No disrespect or slight meant to any seniors but based on their contributions and actual minutes played this past season, we'll miss Bracone, Acox, and Tucker the most.
I suspect we may add one transfer to the roster in the summer to go with the incoming freshman class.

Seriously, the better teams tend to be those with a deep bench and more seniority in play or leadership. It is imperative that we sufficiently replace these pieces to remain at the same level of competitiveness. My opinion.

this type of turnover is pretty "normal" for most college teams, even before the portal and nil came into play. shoot, my thinking is that paris locke is gone be a straight up "stud" next season, i think she's ready to step in and assume the same role that tucker played. i also like keona curtis, i expect her to play a more significant role next season, i really like her "length".
i'm not very concerned about replacing the talent that we're losing to graduation or the transfer portal. we already have a very good nucleus returning next season. all coach rob has to do is add another piece or two to the puzzle and i'm confident that indeed he will do so. and who knows? maybe a couple of his incoming true freshmen recruits will have major impact akin to locke's production this season. i'm not really worried...

We need a legit slasher (Tucker 2.0) and 2 shooters in addition to what we have coming back.

We need a legit slasher (Tucker 2.0) and 2 shooters in addition to what we have coming back. i think locke will adequately replace tucker's production next season. their style of play is different, locke is not a "slasher". but she's very strong in the paint. their styles are different, locke is more "physical" than tucker but the "production" between last year's tucker and next year's locke will be similar despite different styles. i fully expect locke to be an even better player next season than she was this season as a true freshman. we'll be fine...

Locke has to improve her face up game. When she has the ball in hand outside the line and especially on the perimeter she is unable to get by the defender. We need some dawgs that will get to the cup like Tucker did, but I would say we need 2 because frankly she wasn't enough. We need to find a quality backup for Dorsey because when she goes out we have no ball handling or playmaking. And we've got to get at least 2 shooters that are physical. I love Bracone's shooter mentality but she wasn't tough with the ball and would get careless under pressure. My thoughts and opinion...

I love Bracone's shooter mentality but she wasn't tough with the ball and would get careless under pressure. My thoughts and opinion... i respectfully disagree. i don't believe the playing style of a player (i.e., slasher, shooter, etc.) has to be duplicated by another player. to me, i believe a player's "production" is what needs to be replaced, not their style of play. gotta remember, locke was a "true freshman" last season. naturally i expect her to only "improve" over the summer thereby becoming an even better player than she was last season. i'm not concerned with replacing tucker's slashing ability though it would be nice. instead, my concern is replacing tucker's "production" and i honestly think locke will have an excellent chance of doing exactly that next season. to me, the style is far less important than the "production". i'll give you an example. nc state's center is not a "prototypical" center. he's not as quick, he doesn't jump as high, and he's not best player in transition when it comes to post players. but his "production"? is off the hook! nobody can stop him within 15 feet of the basket. perfect example of style of play not being as important as "production"...

Gotcha OSA and I follow. Let me be clear, I like Locke a lot and I recognize that this offseason should allow her to add to her bag. And I'm with you on production v style. I just see a lot of sets in our offense where it doesn't appear that we have an abundance of players that flat out go and get it. Locke is tough on the glass and I dig the aggression. If she adds the ability to get by her man, lookout!
Either way, my feelings won't be hurt if we add a couple of ladies that look like what we saw from Troy and a couple of shooter. I appreciate your reply.

I think the next class is pretty much set. So y'all should go look at the players we've announced.
Unless there can be more.

I appreciate your reply. me personally, i really don't care "how" we win as long as we win. troy has a "very athletic" team and they're entertaining to watch. sure, i would luv to have the same kinda athletes that troy has. but again, i don't care "how" we win, just win baby! i feel the same way about coach rob's sideline demeanor during games. a good number of posters here on bdv complained in the past that coach rob doesn't really exhibit a lot "energy or enthusiasm" on the sideline when he's coaching. heck, i absolutely luv energetic, fist pumping, cheer leading coaches on the sideline too! but that's not coach rob's style, generally he's very "calm" on the sideline and usually just stands there almost "expressionless" with his arms folded (unless something egregious happens). well, as much as i prefer energetic coaches, all i care about is the "end result". lol, my favorite saying about coach rob's sideline demeanor is that i wouldn't even care if he sat at the end of the bench during games knitting a doggone sweater or blanket " as long as he wins" and he does. so i don't complain. nonetheless, the sentence that you posted above that i put in "bold" makes me "cringe", that's why i highlighted it. i'm a high school basketball referee and i hear that terminology used in women's basketball all the time from both male and female coaches. they'll scream out to their female players, "get yo man" as in man-to-man defense. i often say to those coaches who use that terminology that there's no "men" on the other team! can't you tell your players to "get yo girl"? or, when i was coaching i used to scream to my female players simply to "get yours"! but i never said, "get your man". to me, that's disrespectful to all female players. even though i know what folk mean when they refer to female players as "men", it still makes me "cringe". but its easily "fixable"...

Unless there can be more. didn't the players who entered the portal still have a year of eligibility left? so doesn't that mean that their scholarships will be "freed up" and coach rob could use them to sign new recruits? so shouldn't that free up at least 2 or 3 scholarships?
