All of this may be true but they found a way to perform in the WNIT.

Agree that "poor" was a bad choice of word. The team did not live up to expectation in regular season finish after we all observed how well they performed in the 1st half of the season. In the last few weeks folks were so excited that they were speculating ways we could either finish 1st or 2nd in the CAA even though we knew we were playing the toughest part of our schedule. It's two years in a row we struggled down the stretch. In fact most of our athletic teams seem to struggle down the stretch in the CAA. Don't know if there's a common cause or coincidence. shoot, most of our teams are not competitive in the conference to begin with. women's basketball is our only team other than track that's competitive in the conference. the rest of our teams have never finished above .500 in the conference and generally finish "near" the bottom of the conference, if not "the" bottom of the conference. to me, a lot of things change towards the end of most seasons such as "injuries" and the other conference teams being far more familiar with our teams compared to early in the season. i would argue relative to our wbb team's finish that it was a combination of things that impacted our finish but mainly it was the conference teams no longer taking us for granted as a wbb team when they saw that we were "firmly" holding down 2nd place. i think evidence of that notion could be found by observing our performances in the wnit. the 3 teams we played were as good (if not better) than the top 3 or 4 teams in the caa. but because they'd never played us before, they didn't have the familiarity with our team that the conference foes had towards the end of the season. i'm confident that odu and uncg could've finished top 3 or 4 in the caa, but troy would've actually won the caa championship "outright", they're much better than stoney brook...

All of this may be true but they found a way to perform in the WNIT. Our WBB team performance in the WNIT was wonderful news for all and I appreciated the administration having the faith in the team to place winning bids to host.⭐❤👏👍🏀. With that said, our performance proved to me that we deserved to finish where we did in the conference and we have to play better and coach/recruit better. Why am I saying this? Because we did not make it to the WNIT Championship game. Better women basketball teams played either in the main Women's Basketball D1 National Championship or the Women's Basketball Invitation Tournament (WBIT). On the men's basketball side, teams that are on the bubble of making the March Madness tournament tend to do very well in the NIT. They are either playing in the NIT Semifinals or Championship games. I base my earlier comments on this. We are close but we must fix whatever is causing us to fade down the stretch in the regular season in order for us to win "games" in either of the 2 more competitive tournaments. We were placed appropriately, so I celebrate our success at that level last season.

"expectations" are too high. if your "expectations" for our wbb program is beyond a conference championship and beyond perhaps a 1st round march madness win (which are achievable), but instead is to win postseason tournament "championships" whether wnit or wbit, then i'd say that your "expectations" are too high. i mean, its find to "aspire" to reach that level, but i don't think our program is in a position to "expect" to reach that level. there's a reason that no hbcu in ncaa history has "ever" reached "championship" level except norfolk state won the cit championship this past season but there were no major d1 or midmajor teams in that tournament...

I don't expect our WBB team to win a national postseason tournament, but believe winning a WNIT is achievable at our level if the conditions are correct (the supposedly 100 best teams participate in the top 2 tournaments [68 + 32]). Multiple wins at the higher 2 tournaments are possible in my opinion. I think we are in agreement.

I think we are in agreement. i agree that multiple wins are possible in the "non-march madness" postseason tournaments that currently exist. but i don't think its likely that we'll win the postseason wnit and/or wbit championships (barring further "watering down" of either or both tournaments). but as they currently exist, i do not think its likely that we'll win a postseason wnit and/or wbit championship. but i clearly have expectations to win multiple rounds in the postseason wnit and/or wbit tournaments cuz we've already proven "twice" that we're capable of that. i also think that we're "capable" of winning a 1st round game at march madness and "definitely" more than capable of winning a women's "first 4" play in game at march madness. but that's as far as my "expectations" go for march madness...

I liked her. Pesky, always moving, was getting Her 3-ball going some. Good luck to Her. Our roster seems to be getting stacked.
