Our defense will definitely bend against Troy but hopefully it will not break. My concerns are more about our offensive struggles. The scoring will be in the 60's atleast.

So, do we know yet if the game will be at Corbett? I'm asking because during the Troy - FIU game, the announcer said that Troy also put in a bid to host the game.

We slow the ball down. Unless we get a break, then we run. We foul players out and hopefully make them pay while hitting our FT's. It takes it to the 4th Qtr to do it. We have some sets with motion, but mostly we rest while our Big works. Someone said it somewhere. Coach had Clark to make tough passes to back-door cutters, or to the Guard who posted up their Smaller/Player.
Now. when playing from behind, we defensively turn up, because of the rest we had on Offense. One thing where we struggle at time is when we need to make out ground very fast...min left ect., and we run the sets too long. ( They are doing what they are told). I would like to see Dorsey just get a pick and create, Period. Live or die. but make it faster.
Clark is still developing to me. She came back showing that She worked over the summer. This Summer, maybe some more work on Her Trunk/ Balance/ Footwork with put Her over the Top for us. She eventually gets double teamed. She is not quick with the rock like Acox. She is like the Center with Nuggets. Now, She has an Elbow jumper. I would have Her take it, with Locke/Acox/ Tucker aiming to rebound. Let Her 3-ball rest some, unless the shot clock demands it.
Teams hate to fall behind us because of the methodical swinging the ball around by us and moving out with 10 secs left if we dont get what we need. We need to live with that. That is what we do better that many Teams. It's ugly or it's beautiful at times, but it's Us. The Chess Strategy manifests in the 4th Qtr when they cant foul us and we are doing out thing, or our pressure defense exposes a bench player or something. Or we get out and run on a long rebound.
We shoot FT's more than most, for a reason. We have our share of quick shots, and when they fall, Look-out!
Shop Talk. How much is an Ad on the Jumbotron (For BDV). Out Announcer does a fine job. However I would like that have the foul number announced every incident. I also would like some live Stats displayed, Like they are on the Website, a summery of Fouls, Rebounds points. Something, during the interludes and a possible review of a play in question when needed.
Now to the fun. Dorsey/ Acox/Tucker and Bracone can go into their Bags. To hear the 'oooh's and aaah's" warms my heart knowing that the crown is into it. Give Locke a Summer to work on Her Game. Adding more of an handle, and oft-hand element and a 3-ball....smh...scary for the League. I would like to see That #5 spot player Mia get a jump hook with both hands and look to attack period, as She develops. They (the League) cannot stop our Bigs consistently. And to Add a 1-2 punch would get us closer to the Title.
Friday Nites on Benbow is getting crazy...the Live-wire type section is coming alive...

Watching this game..Troy will be our toughest challenge yet! None of their players are afraid to shoot it, and they are quick. Davis and Clark will definitely struggle to defend these girls. I see why they average 80pts per game. anybody who says odu is not a good team doesn't know what they're talkin' bout. before they played us, odu was 22-9 in the sunbelt conference including a win over "troy" and they went "undefeated" against the caa this season (3-0). to say odu is not a good team is "nonsense". they play in an fbs conference and they won "22 games". how "anybody" can say odu is not a good team is beyond me. winning 22 games is not a good team? if not, then what da hail is? our ladies had to win 2 wnit games to reach 22 wins, so i guess we're not a good team either, huh? i agree with you that troy is a good team but troy has only won 19 games and they're in the same conference as odu. so since odu beat troy this season and troy has only won 19 games, does that mean troy is not a good team too? heck, anybody that knows anything about basketball would tell ya of course that doesn't mean troy is not a good team. i swear, some of things i read on bdv are mind boggling. odu is not a good team? omg... |

i wonder if bracone's game winning 3 point shot will restore her confidence and put her 3 point shooting back on track? i certainly hope so cuz we're gonna need effective 3 point shooting against troy...

What team were you and OSA watching? That team was horrible and we should have beaten them by at least 15 points. Again, if we play as bad as we did against OD, Troy will blow us out of the gym. I wish Coach Robinson would recruit more pure shooters from the outside. He always spend his time recruiting Bigs who can't make a lay up or put back. |
