Im new to this forum but glad I found it. Is @bluedeathvalley doing a signing day show and breakdown this week? Seems like a missed opportunity if not. A&T is a Blue blood but would love to see an increase in digital engagement especially during the off-season.

Inside a 48-hour span, Coles had visited the school’s campus and offered his commitment. N.C. Wednesday marked Coles’ final day of high school; he’ll enroll at A&T sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 16, he said. Will this kid be a running back or defensive back?

Our most glaring weakness was the QB position. Our most glaring weakness was at the offensive coordinator position. I think any of the guys we had last season could have been way more productive if we had a competent person calling plays. If Brown can make a good hire with his next OC, I think we can experience an immediate leap forward on the offensive side of the ball. However, based on what we signed today on defense we might have to outscore most teams to win games in 2024. Outscoring teams is how I thought we were going to look in 2023. Maybe that’s true in 2024 until the defense gets the experience

Sounds like a kid that'll enter the portal in a few years lol The way things are goings, I expect to lose 1/3 of any class....to the portal, not showing up, dropping out, or whatever. Our program will have to adjust to that reality like any other.

Our program will have to adjust to that reality like any other. That's why I'm no longer high on signing a high percentage of high school kids. They have a decent season and you can waive goodbye.

Coles revealed that his once-lively recruitment slowed considerably when the transfer portal opened on Dec. 4, with rosters filling to the point that a few schools from which he held offers didn’t accept his commitment. This happens more times that you would imagine. An offer by itself means very little these days. There are generic offers just to let a player know that a school is interested in them ... and then there are "committable offers" that include how much money you are receiving from the school and specific things like that. Anytime you hear of a player with bigtime FBS offers suddenly end up at a FCS program, 99 percent of the time it was because the kid did not actually receive a committable offer.

Will this kid be a running back or defensive back? “Some were recruiting me on defense, some on offense, and that kinda opened my eyes,” said Coles, who rushed for 1,126 yards and 18 touchdowns this fall as a senior at Brooke Point. Coles began to ask himself, “Why not both?”—a question he answered definitively on Wednesday afternoon with his surprise commitment to North Carolina A&T. The NCAA FCS member Aggies entered Coles’ recruitment late—last weekend, to be precise—and won him over with promises of playing on both sides of the ball from the moment he steps foot in Greensboro. Wednesday marked Coles’ final day of high school; he’ll enroll at A&T sometime between Jan. 11 and Jan. 16, he said.

Well I guess you can say we addressed the QB Position and to some extent Wide Receivers in the early signing period. Hopefully this will allow Brown and his staff to spend the majority of their time and efforts on bringing in some size on the Def. Line and line backers

Keep in mind that most power 5 scholarship players are now getting a guaranteed five figures in nil money in addition to the cost of education money. A&T is not offering anything like that. It is very rare that any recruit is gonna take a $20,000 - $40,000 pay cut just because we have a great engineering program.

The unsigned "big ones" will explore all of their optiions. As they should...they worth a lot in this "market" and they know it. I'm sure we will snag a few.
