Man, these recent coaches could not coach their ways out of a wet paper sack. None were consistent because they were too dumb to keep their jobs.
Jones took over a ready made team that were explosive on fast breaks and could slam at will. Other than that his teams were average.
Out of 700,000 basketball players in America alone and 1000's of real coaches alone in America and abroad, why is it we are failures in hiring one?
Why has our AD and Chancellor been blind in hiring real talented basketball coaches. We have not had a real coach since Coach Don Corbett.

Whatever Jones did it did not disqualify him to work at a pretty good HS local program. I know the principal at that school and she would never hire someone that could threaten the integrity of the school ..
That being said our conscious decision to destroy both programs is taking a toll. We literally ranked almost dead last in both sports and that is unacceptable .
Any average Athletic Department sees some success a great athletic department can sustain success.. I’ll leave it there.

Any average Athletic Department sees some success a great athletic department can sustain success.. I’ll leave it there. Understandable. Both Revenue programs are under first year HC with teams that have been depleted by graduation, tranfer and what ever reason you want to come up with . I look at this season as a season of Evaluation of both sports. Evaluation of talent Evaluation of coaching staff. Both sports will have had their year of evaluation to understand what they need talent and staff wise going forward. 2024 will determine if they can recruit the athletes and inject the right staff to turn the programs around. Evaluation of the Administration to actually put plans to work and action and not just on paper and in PowerPoint presentations and speeches. Because we all know that Hilton cannot do a thing unless the Chancellor Martin and BOT green lights what he wants and is trying to do. Personally (in my opinion)I am tired of hearing that we will do this in 2026 or 2030 and then when we get to those years the CAN is KICKED FURTHER DOWN THE ROAD. When it is easier to put things into action now, don't get it twisted it doesn't have to be anything major but it has to be something that shows good FAITH that what you put on paper will come to FRUITION. Inconsistent leadership starts at the top in our case it starts with Chancellor Martin and BOT then to Hilton to get anything Major done, then to the coaching staff to prepare guide and Lead their athletes.

Mannn, all we do is make excuses as to why our 2 main coaches are not coaching in a high level. Granted this is their first year but damn Jerry Eaves and Fobbs could win a few games.
We ain't the only school that has been hit with transfers, the Portal and graduation. Next year some will still be making excuses for these below average coaches.
How could the AD'S in the 50's. 60's and 70's have enough intelligence to select good to above average coaches without the money and technology that T has today.
Something ain't right in our selection process and if Hilton is 3rd on the totem pole behind the Chancellor and BOT then he is not needed. Get rid of that position and save money to keep the grass green.
