I feared he wouldn't be healthy against Nova. Oh well, next man up!

We should of been doing something already but now with game being free on Flo sports, we need to make a last ditch effort to get butts in seats, cause otherwise we gone look like the Tampa Bay MLB wildcard games past 2 days...

We should of been doing something already but now with game being free on Flo sports, we need to make a last ditch effort to get butts in seats, cause otherwise we gone look like the Tampa Bay MLB wildcard games past 2 days... I posted the following, yesterday, in the 8 Bookface groups I post in about our athletics: Aggies, We NEED ALL HANDS on deck for our game against Villanova this Saturday (10/7/2023)...also Community Awareness Day! MOST students will be gone due to Fall Break. If you have other plans already, pleez change them to be in The Bank (Truist Stadium) from 3:53 PM EST to about 7:19 PM EST! Also, though Villanova looks like a formidable opponent, they CAN be beaten! So we need as much support for our kids as possible! Let's go! MY DC convinced me to run a 3-3-5 in Pop Warner at the start of one season. We looked great in practice. All these nimble and quick tacklers flying all over the field. Then we got gouged, punished up front and slaughter-ruled by the best team in the league. Won the rest of our games by going back to a 4-3. Never again, LOL. 3-5 is not for everyone. You have to have the right talent and a dominate NT that can penetrate . I would use different versions depending on the situation..i.e 3-4-4 or 4-4-3 with my wideside DE given the option to flow back into coverage in the passing lanes depending on the formation and his read keys . But the key is the NT he has to be able to draw the double team an control 2&3 along with pushing the pocket . The 3-5 is the new flavor of the day but you have to have the right talent . We are just missing that one piece the dominant nose tackle. In saying that we looked a lot better in the traditional 43 . I think if we come out the gate controlling the Run and I don't mean stacking the Box, make them one-dimensional because we know the pass is there strong point and their quarterback likes to throw deep so the defensive backs should be prepared. This is a winnable game it's just up to us to win it. TCU ran the 3-3-5 as its base defense all last year which helped them reached the national championship game against Georgia. They had the talent, depth, and coaching experiences to run that defense effectively against many opponents. Usually teams smaller in size on the D-Line but quick, fast , and strong run as their base defense. Georgia then entail exposed the weaknesses of the 3-3-5 against TCU. O-Line that is strong enough to not be pushed around by the front 3 and don't require a double team. Good tight-ends that excellent blockers, yet are good route runners and can catch passes when mismatched with a LB or smaller DB. Georgia also had experience in playing against the 3-3-5 defense due to playing Georgia Tech every year which runs that defense. Why am I saying all of this? It is because up to this point we have played only 1 team to date where A&T 3-3-5 base defense played ok enough for us to win a game. In that game we gave up a lot of rushing yards (230 yds) and lost the total yards, 1st down, passing yards, and time of possession stats. Your above concerns are warranted and I suspect Coach Brown and staff is aware of the things you and I have highlighted in our posts. I just hope and pray that as we play each opponents Coach Brown makes the proper and necessary adjustments on defense and offense to put us in position to compete at a high level and win some games. We will see starting with Villanova. I hope he is not too stubborn to abandon the 3-3-5 base defense if he finds out he truly does not have the talent on the team to run this extremely aggressive defensive scheme. Lots of teams run this particular defense as a special package but not as their base defense.

Lots of teams run this particular defense as a special package but not as their base defense. We ran a lot of 4-3 against Norfolk so it shows he is willing to switch it up. I'm more concerned about the pass this week with Nova, that's there strong suit 💪 . They have good fairly fast Receivers and we can not let them beat us deep . Our safeties have to not get caught looking in the Backfield 4sure.

Great. Coaches and players are learning from each other and working together towards success. I love it.

Hol' up! Wait a minute!
Not only do we have a football game tomorrow (4 PM EST vs. Villanova).
We also have a Volleyball match at 12 PM EST vs. Hofstra (Moore Gym)!
If you don't know already, the matches are lit with a DJ, team chants, etc!
