Not a good week for a meeting. Maybe he is meeting with the students that have interest for next year. Maybe he needs some ball boys.

I will 1st start by stating that I have no issue with our Coach Brown having an interest meeting. The main reason I am posting is that I am sadden somewhat that we are attacking fellow Aggies on their right of freedom of speech to question the coaches decision on a "forum". Leaders, even good leaders, get questioned all the time and at anytime during their term or career. Who on this forum can tell me or others when is the definitive time for someone to question a newly hired or appointed NCA&T administrator or coach regarding a decision they made? Is the grace period 1 week, 1 month, 1 year, etc?
While running for state office several people told my mother that they supported her but it was not the right time to run against the incumbent. They questioned it but still voted for her when she ignored their advice and in the end she won the race. The folks on this forum that question the coaches decision or timing on this upcoming interest meeting are not going to change Coach Brown's decision or the students that plan to attend. This will happen. Let's allow things to play out without attacking each other about an innocent question in which I suspect all whom are asking the question are in support of the coach and program.
Coach Brown may endup being the greatest football coach in A&T's history, but let's stop being so defensive that he or any newly hired admin/coach can't be questioned about their decision early in their start. Again for the record, I have no problem with Coach Brown's interest meeting, but I also do not see the problem with others questioning his decision. He is in a leadership decision and I trust he knows how to appropriately handle it.
I hope I don't get slam too much for my opinion.

it don't bother me. i'm a "results guy". all i care about are the "results" on the football field. just like some aggies complain that coach "t" rob isn't very energetic on the sideline during games,i don't care cuz he wins.
i have the same feelings about "any" aggie coach. as long as you do it "legally", i don't care how you win! wanna have an interest meeting merely 1 game into the season? heck, i don't care! what i care about is the product on the football field.
and quite honestly, i'm okay with coach brown's first game performance even though i think our offensive play calling could use some work. my expectations all along was that we'll go thru some "growing pains". uab score? welcome to "growing pains"...

The issue is that you post all over Twitter for God and the world to see and start doubting our program. Believe it or not you are the unofficial voice of Aggie Nation and it seems as if that responsibility is being taken lightly. People take your words as gospel and right now it’s a lot of negativity 🤷🏾♂️ You can think it’s weird but there is nothing positive that will be achieved through the posts. Let that man run his program. FACTS

I'm not close enough to the program or been in a program to have any reason...logical or not. Using life experience, tell me the logical reason this is a good time to initiate this activity. Ok, here's a logical reason: We have a whole new class of freshmen and transfer kids that might be interested in trying out. Considering, what might be the requirements, it's probably best to get them info. early so they can prepare themselves and not disqualify themselves.

I don’t see the big deal. Coach comes out, gives a five minute speech, hands out a leaflet, and leaves. Some assistant that is in charge of coordinating tryouts in the spring takes over, emphasizes what’s needed to try out in the spring, and reminds everybody in attendance to keep the grades up and stay in shape.

I came out of my social media retirement to just say this; This is arguably one of the dumbest threads I've seen ever here. To be angry, concerned, shocked, etc... about a football tryout interest meeting flyer just because it's going to be held during Aggie/Buzzard week is asinine, to say the least.
Please, log off, go touch grass, exercise, and get a life. This is not a sign that program is on its way to becoming the second coming of the Fobbs Error. So, cut it out.
Also, someone, let me back in the private forum, please.

Calm down. It's a meeting. More than likely informing kids of GPA and other requirements for Spring tryouts. Literally everyone has tryouts. School just started. Our roster is set. Geez Please show me where other schools are having "interest" meetings in early September...Please. I posted a few links and a key word search where you can find other schools.

Thanks, everyone. All is good. And I want to be clear; there were clear red flags for us fans to be concerned about.
2-8 in the passing game and our defense looked like Swiss cheese, especially on the first few drives.
But a flyer for a tryout interest meeting isn’t one. It’s just going to be something that we get Jones’d on in the HBCU Media Space. And that’s not on the coaching staff to concern themselves with. They got a tough enough task merging their 3-man front schemes with a team clearly built to run a 4-3 Under/4-2-5 scheme.

FYI. I did a Google search on the words "college football tryout interest meeting" and found out that many colleges have fall football tryout or walk-on interest meetings in the months of August, September, and October. So what Coach Brown is doing maybe new to A&T, but not out of the ordinary for college football programs at all levels. The process also seems harmless and does not require much of the football staff's time. The latest date that I found of a fall tryout meeting was by Norfork State University which was October 30th. Also, see Alabama walk-on date. The questions posed by some posters on Coach Brown's decision/timing were innocent and harmless in my opinion as well as Coach Brown's decision/timing to schedule a meeting. Hopefully, we can stop the conflict on this topic and move on, unless I am missing something like individuals having a personal issue with each other that is unrelated to the topic being discussed. nsuspartans.com/news/2020/10/27/football-walk-on-interest-meeting-is-oct-30www.google.com/amp/s/www.al.com/alabamafootball/2023/08/want-to-join-the-alabama-football-team-walk-on-tryouts-scheduled.html%3foutputType=ampThat settles it for me. I still say Defund the "Word Police"!
