Coach isn't on. Billy Covington said he will be on next week.

It's officially football season.
Why am I listening to the swimming coach?

Somebody please explain. No press conference. No Sports Report. Bye week is not an excuse! Fobbs just went down a notch on my report card.

Its not Fobbs' fault. He has proven to be more than accessiable when it comes to communicating with the media and our fanbase. I blame whoever is in charge of programing and broadcasting at 90.1.
I think its time we need to come up with a different type of A&T sports show on 90.1 and get a new host.

Especially after that big of a behind whippin. He had to be on there tonight. Let us know how he is addressing the lack of tackling and not being physical enough on the line of scrimmage. I've said this before. The Sports Report should be a call-in show.

thrilla, you think the program director decided that the people would rather hear from the swimming and volleyball coaches, than the football coach after the first game?

Billy said he was not on because they don't play this week. that's BS. Why didn't he have a press conference on Tuesday? If Fobbs didn't make this decision then he had better say so or I will believe it was his. If it was Todd's, that's worse!

I went to practice today and at 5:30 PM Fobbs was still out with the team preparing for next week. I don't think Fobbs would decline to do a weekly radio show just because he suffered a bad loss in his first game.
Billy probably was just lazy this week and put the swimming coach on because he couldn't find anyone else better. Dude has never been confused with being a true journalist or talk show host.
We need to a new show format and a new host. Hell we could even have co-hosts if that would make it better.

Sometimes they do it live and sometimes they have pre-recorded interviews. Either way, it always comes off as being thrown-together and low-budget. Billy is way past his prime.

As for the radio, contact the Handsome (sic) One. He schedules those things. Coach Fobbs has always been very cooperative.

I've got a a question: since we own our own radio station, has there ever been any thought into putting together a one hour post-game show after every A&T football broadcast? They can get a few post-game interviews from Fobbs and a few players and maybe field a few phone calls from irate fans. I mean, really, how difficult would that be? It's not like that time slot has already been reserved by some sponsor. Why do we always have to rush off the air five minutes after the final whistle just because the "The Jazz Zone" or "The Blues Hour" or "Saturday night bible fest" is coming on?
Is there anybody who we can contact about improving the station's sports programming? This is really starting to tick me off.
