I do not care anything about what you are saying. I refuse to let HBCU be a handicap as most people on this board see it as being. Blaw blaw blaw... You always pretend to lose interest when you get embarrassed after making a silly statement. This happens about once a week, so no one here should be shocked by it. Definitely not embarassed and stand by my statement. I just know certain peoples life completely revolve around HBCUs therefore they cant grasp that the world is bigger than that of their HBCU soda straw view. therefore I do not waste my time trying to help them see the world from a different perspective.

You probably get mad every time someone asks you what school you graduated from.
I bet you tell your co-workers "North Carolina" read loud and then just mumble the A&T part under your breath.

I say North Carolina A&T.... You assume that people know what a HBCU is and that A&T is one of them, lol. That is what I mean by soda straw view of the world!! Most people have never heard of NC A&T or even HBCU. I work with people from all corners of the world and United States. People from England, Alaska, Main, Montana, Arizona, Canada, Jamaica, Nigeria, Togo, Kenya, Saudi Arabia.... Most have never heard of NC A&T!!!

That just means you are probably moving in the wrong circles. Everywhere I go, the A&T name is well known and respected. Especially in the tech and business world.
I think some of your colleagues don't want to mention A&T around you because they know it causes personal trauma. They are just trying not to trigger you.

Let me try to clarify where I believe 2039 is coming from.
When I was trying to figure out the jugs machine thing one of the football staffers said something like the following to me when we were talking about something else:
We're an HBCU, we don't have those kinds of things.
His position was to lay blame on us not having things was because we're an HBCU.
I believe 2039's point is that we should not be blaming our circumstances on being an HBCU. We're a D1 program.
Granted, some/many HBCUs don't help the situation, including us sometimes.

Let me tell you I was FLOORED, last year, when I was talking to a Black lady (in her 20s) about her son going to college. She's from NC and lives in Charlotte and told me she had never heard of A&T.

If you are talking to a woman in her 20s who has a son that's about go to college, you are definitely traveling in the wrong circles.

3 hours ago saabman said: Truthfully you can't stop them from leaving period for any FCS or above programs if and when they decide to leave. The problem I see with the NIL is programs getting into a bidding war over players, with hbcus at this level are not financially equipped to do. . You can only do what you can with what you have . For me I'm not invested in this nil mess. I made that clear a long time ago. Because I think we can win without the NIL baggage hanging over our heads. In one of my post I made a statement "do we want Mercenaries or student Athletes " . And it is a bidding war over athletes especially the good ones "that HBCUs are not financially equipped to do" and I stand by that statement. Don't include me in your debacle .
