I get all the rule changes and cultural changes. Can someone ease my mind on why we have 5,600 offers and none committed?

All I’m saying is that I see the same # of commitments from bball and the man has been here less than a month. I see volleyball softball baseball track and field athetes say committed .. I have not seen anything from the sports that has as many scholarships as these sports combined. I don’t want to sound critical if there is no reason to be, that’s why I’m asking. Is the period over- should I not be seeing committed announcements?

Word Police has determined that the 5600 was, indeed, sarcasm. Carry on.

This begs another question, do kids verify that their commitment is accepted by a school before making these so-called reveal announcements? Are some kids "re-opening" their recruitment because they have to instead of because they want to?
And for fans, this means that a kid hasn't necessarily "turned down" every other offer in order to come to your school. Some of his offers may have turned him down for someone higher on their board.

to me, an offer doesn't necessarily mean a full ride, it could mean a "partial" scholarship or even a "preferred walk-on" offer.
however, when my daughter was being recruited outta high school, the expectation was that she'd get a full scholarship from every school that she was brought in for an "official visit". probably every d1 school that brings you in for an expense paid "official visit" has a definite scholarship available for that recruit...
