That doesn't sound good. Tonight would have been a perfect time to say we just hired a new men's basketball coach.

Tonight's Town Hall would have minimal discussion on athletics... I straight up asked Earl at the Spring Game when the reports were out and he wouldn't confirm it... Nothing is a done deal until the University reports it...

When the contract negotiations are done and we have a complete and total agreement between both parties formal announcements will be made. Sure we would like these things to be done faster, but if I'm the new coach at A&T given our history I want some things in writing. If I'm representing the University I want to make sure my expectations are clearly outlined and understood. This is one of our revenue generating sports and we have missed our mark the past couple coaches. We did the same thing with football as well. "Oh the sky is falling"...and such. I'm sure the incoming coach is well aware of the time table and has analyzed the situation he knows our history, and what he is getting into...we aren't just getting a new coach. We are getting someone who is supposed to lay the foundation to compete at a different level in a new conference. Have you all forgotten that this is a multi year plan. This transition is going to take years.

Sure, I wish that he’d just come out and say, “We have someone in mind and we are proceeding through the process. We hope to have an opportunity to make an announcement very soon.” But that’s not Hilton. He’s an attorney. We’ll just have to ride on his timeline. 🤷🏾♂️

my concern with this apparent delay is "recruiting". we've got a lot of holes to fill! the longer this takes, the less opportunities to sign "top talent". at this rate, we're gonna be left with a bunch of "scrubs" in the portal to choose from.
hopefully ross is doing some recruiting on the side while contract negotiations are going on...

If Monte Ross ends up NOT being our next coach......I'm gonna be okay.

The positives have been greater than the negatives. Just got to ride this out as the process repeats for softball.

Sorry, I am the worrying kind when things don't go as normal or expected. We had 8 to 9 months to search and hire a coach and we still have not officially named a MBB HC. This is not normal to me, but I remain positive and still pray that we hire a good coach and he elevates our MBB program to greater heights. I reserve my rights to critique the hiring of the new HC, until after the staff has been chosen, recruiting for this season has ended, and the team has played a several "CAA conference" games. So for some of you, don't be afraid or concerned about expressing (Edited: expressing was added to original posting) what is currently happening, just try to remain positive. Things may work out for the best 👌 🙏.

This is normal ,From the conference jumping to coaching hiring , firing and lack of transparency . Hilton, Martin and the BOT are going to do with they do on their time , I have accepted that fact a long time ago . Hurry up and wait 😆

Nothing seems right about what's going on. I am trying not to overanalyze or be critical, so I guess I will have to be patient.
