wow, no one ever said that coach jones couldn't recruit. his "big 3" (watson, woods, powell) have now all committed to major d1 programs at some point in their college careers. yet, we once had a poster claim that coach jones didn't have any "d1 talent" on his squad when he had watson, woods, and powell on the team...

I guess he chose between Louisna Lafayette and GA Tech....think he signed earlier with Lafayette...something like Tuten did.

Another opportunity to see if a former Aggie can perform at the ACC level (Woods at NCSU). Duncan had quite a few good high major schools seeking his services. I am pretty sure NIL played a role in his decision. "The Jackets edged out West Virginia, Florida State, Virginia Tech, Texas, and NC State to land his commitment. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at Tech." georgiatech.rivals.com/news/tech-lands-former-sacramento-state-nc-a-t-forward-duncan-powell

On a side note, however, anyone want to place a wager that he'll be back in the portal after the '24-'25 season? I'll take a Long Island Iced Tea at GHOE '25 WHEN I win this wager.

I'm dizzy from all of the moving around from area code to area code that he's done. At some point, one has to wonder...

I honestly woulda thought he was gonna get some burn at NC State, for them to snatch him. Itโs another guard on that squad from 30 mins off campus that I wish would just come this way for his final year. High majors just hoard certain guys on their bench for emergency depth, that should be starting a low/mid major

Would that guard be the player from Reidsville?

i don't miss watson nor woods. to be honest, watson was a "beast" and there's currently nobody on our team who can "physically" do what watson was capable of. but he's not a "team player", and i don't want "selfish" players on my team. as for woods, he too was "selfish". but unlike watson, we do have a player and perhaps players, who can "physically" do what woods was capable of. a "healthy" landon glasper can do "everything" that woods was capable of doing and it remains to be seen if any of our "new" recruits can do the same.
on the other hand, i do miss duncan powell and we don't currently have a player who can do what he did when he was healthy. however, we've got a player or two who can come "close" and that's the "greek freak" who has a different game than powell, but can be just as effective in his own way.
kudos to coach ross! for retaining all of his last season's major "impact players" but also "adding" great talent to complement last year's team. i almost feel like telling coach rob and our women's team, to "move over" and make room for our men's team as well. cuz i believe we now have the ingredients on our men's team to really make some "noise" this season in the conference.
if we can stay relatively "healthy", i see our men finishing in the "upper half" of the conference this season and i don't feel like i'm going out on a limb with that prediction. man, i'm "excited" for the start of both our men's and women's basketball seasons...

Would that guard be the player from Reidsville? Yup, Breon. Thought he was for sure gonna be out this year after barely touching the floor but I was wrong ๐

He was a 4 star, & looked like it. Canโt believe (I can believe ๐) the program was gifted a top 100 recruit & completely fumbled it.
