Listening to a lot of you it really makes me wonder. At first you were saying we couldn't compete in the CAA now that we are competing and winning all I get is crickets. Now you're saying to Save Face because you were wrong 😆 that the football team will be a disaster next season. I disagree we will do a lot better than a lot of you are anticipating but I guess once we do I'll get CRICKETS AGAIN 😆🤣😂 And you will find something else to complain about 😅🤣😂😆

I couldn't make the scrimmage so thanks for providing some highlights from it. It doesn't sound good for the team this year but thanks for the summaries and for level-setting my expectations for this year...

i just hope that coach brown is a "savy" recruiter which is the #1 highest priority i look for in hiring a new head coach. of course he needs to have all of the other attributes associated with coaching football as well, but to me "recruiting ability" is the most important attribute that a college head coach needs...

Aggies are always looking for the bottom to fall out. It's almost like we are "conditioned" to expect the worst to happen. All these years of being Aggies and HBCU sports fans have got us "shook"...we can't compete with them, we don't have the resources, coaching, athletes, and facilities. We better stay in our lane...we gonna be door mats...we will never win any championships. Damn! We got our issues...and our admin is working to address our problems, and work on areas of identified weakness. That said, so far our program for the most part has exceeded expectations and we only getting started. I tend to take a long term view on major changes like this. In about 5 years we will really know how well our sports program has adjusted to this new conference. If you remember, we are ahead of schedule in the plan that our admins originally came up with. We were supposed to "build up" for a few years in the Big South, then make a pitch to get into a league like the CAA. Out teams have been middle of the pack as we continue to grow and learn. As we get better coaching and facilities...recruit the types of athletes needed for the styles of play we will be seeing in the CAA I believe we will cross over into the upper tier of the conference. A&T fans and admins will not accept under performing and in a league like this where schools won't be content to just field a team in some sports, we will constantly get pushed to be better and achieve more. The best is ahead of us.

Was AT&T a sponsor for the game last year? I remember Ms Winners in the past Ah hell, if AT&T starts sponsoring our events, we'll have more funds but the whole sports world will get confused about our damn name. I still have to correct folks that refer to us as AT&T!

The highlight of the scrimmage was a 50-plus yard touchdown run by Charlie Dixon. Broke through the line and zoomed right past the safety. That kid is a locomotive. I struggle with jumping on the "Dixon Locomotive" bandwagon. He was the 3rd option in the backfield with Tuten (easy to see why) and Graves. Each time he got a carry, he was either running backward or running parallel to the line of scrimmage. I remember when he had a promising spring game last year, and some posters on BDV were frothing about he was the Aggie Stadium Derrick Henry. I'm not so sure. I hope he does well in the fall. We'll need him.

I think we will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future. Depends on what your definition of near is. We are going to struggle in football and basketball for at least 2 seasons for the same reasons: 1) It will take that long for the new coaching staff to adequately and appropriately install their system and style of play. 2) It will take that long for the new coaching staff to adequately and appropriately recruit personnel who will fit into their system and style of play. This timeline could be adjusted, shortened, or lengthened by addressing immediate needs through the transfer portal. If Brown and staff want to WIN NOW, then go after the grad transfer. But, success won't be sustained because that's a one-year fix. But... That one-year fix is enough time for freshmen, redshirt freshmen and sophomores to develop into true CAA studs and make the team relevant as soon as 2024. Either way, the Aggie Nation will have to exercise patience and not call for Brown's head when 2023 looks like 1-10/2-9 and 2024 may not look any better. 2025 may be the linchpin year and we'll see dramatic improvement.

For a 6 yard per carry average and scoring 2 touchdowns. Dixon and Graves are the least of our worries

I think the most sobering issue with our 2023 outlook is the fact that Brown will not get the full benefit of his first spring camp.
When you have so many young guys not being able to develop in the new system because of the academic suspensions, it really is a wasted opportunity to get better.
Guys like Hooker were expected to compete for reps with the starters this spring and now they are being held out.
You guys will see what I mean this coming Saturday.

Dixon and Graves are the least of our worries Is Blizzard lives up to the hype, I think we will have a solid 3-man rotation in the backfield this season. Not sure if Graves can carry the load all by himself. Dixon is the proverbial bull in a china shop but not sure if he has enough lateral quickness in tight spaces.

When in a one RB system, and the two RB's in front of you are producing its hard to get carries. I'm not as worried about our RB's as much as I'm unsure about our O line . Hell if you got a great O line you can put Daffy Duck back there and he'll get a thousand yards 😆
