That has already been established.

That has already been established. Coach Brown didn't post that accountability on the NCAT Football Twitter page in a vacuum...

We have a long ways to go. I thought KP was still the best player on the field. The players that transferred have not been replaced (give it time). I don’t believe our QB situation has improved (transfer needed). Our running back and wide receivers need to improve. Our offensive and defensive line will need to improve. I am not sure about special teams because we didn’t really get to see anything live. I know we are missing players but I wonder how many make an impact on the areas we are lacking in. Who are our playmakers?
I am sure Coach Brown and the coaching staff will bring in other players from the transfer portal. I just hope we can compete this coming fall. Losing your top scorers (Tuten- transfer and Brown- injury) from last year really hurts.

If the season started today, I don't see a lot of wins on our schedule. But thankfully the season doesn't start today.

It’s our first year in a much tougher conference with a new staff and a whole lot of non-returnees. What exactly are we realistically hoping for here?
Takes time to build.

Hopefully Brown will be able to sell his longterm vision and tamper down expectations in the shortterm.
Last year's team finished 7-4 and was one game away from making the FCS playoffs. Going from that to 0-fer the next season with a brand new coaching staff might be a tough pill to swallow for a lot of fans.
Right now it feels like the cupboard is pretty bare when it comes to impact players.

Man...you're making it sound like I'm going to lose my bet with Jackson State and I'm going to have to send that $100 to their athletic foundation... They don't have us winning more than 2 games... But the way you're talking, we might be lucky to get that...YIKES...

Our only two quarterbacks in camp right now have about about 5 quarters of actual game experience between them.
We lost our main offensive weapon in Tuten and our top wide receivers. It looked like Nick Wilds-Lawing is our No. 1 receiver in camp right now. We lost our entire starting linebacker corps from a year ago. We are replacing about 80 percent of our defensive line.
Look at our 2023 schedule and tell me what 2 games you think are sure wins.

It's almost April so there's a long way between now and August 31st against UAB... I'm not ready to say this team is going to be 0-11...or 2-9 quite yet...it's too early...there's another opportunity to get more players...there's time to get folks in that want to be here...I don't expect us to win the CAA AT ALL...but 5 or 6 wins is plausible...and if the chips fall our way...could be in playoff consideration but that's being optimistic to the core...

Even if Coach Washington had stayed, it still would have been a tough season for us in a new conference. Unfortunately we can't schedule a bunch of cupcakes until we finish rebuilding... so we're just going to take some "L's" this first season. But let's keep a note pad handy so we can remember those teams we need to give some "payback" next year!

I know I’m mister optimistic…but I’m not too worried. As far as I can see, as Aggies this is just what we do…worry to no end about things we know little about or can’t control. We have a good but untested staff (on paper anyway) for football. Basketball had a surprisingly good season with no formal head coach and plenty of issues along the way. We are on the hunt for a head guy now…I’ll trust our admins and coaches to lay the foundation we need to be successful. All we hear is how tough the CAA is and how far behind we are. I haven’t been disappointed by our teams yet. Preseason polls come out and we are near the bottom. Then we do much better than expected. With the right leadership, resources, and support we will be fine. There are lots of good programs in the CAA, but I’m not as impressed now that we are in the thick of it. In fact, I think we will be a force to be reckoned with in the near future.
