Ed Reed may not be clean shaven with a clean cut haircut but when he spoke regardless of how he expressed it, people listened. The young kids ain't talking about his beard, dress style or language because like it or not he woke people up at Bethune and they are appreciative of that. We got so called righteous upstanding people on here criticizing his style like they are above reproach. Ain't nobody perfect and some are casting the first stone. Those kids are stirred up at Bethune and are fighting for overdue change there. Yes, that nappy head, fouled mouth, long beard wearing brother got them fired up. Everything happens for a reason and you know what he probably don't give a damn what we are saying in Aggie Land or any other land. Despite all that, he is NOT the coach at BCU. And that is the ultimate point, right? Had he said it better, he'd still be there and could actually be an agent of change. Instead he's off complaining on the internets. And if you're familiar with any BCU alums you know he didn't mention anything they haven't already complained about for years. He DID NOT wake anybody up or get anybody fired up. Evidently he woke someone up because the students haven't protested in this manner before.

looks to me that reed may need to be drug tested. his behavior since being offered the bcu job has very much been "abnormal" and over the top. watching some of his social media videos, it appears that he literally can't control himself... Sent from my SM-G950U using proboards That is normal for Reed . He has always been a person Direct to the point that never sugar coats things ,issues or cared about hurting feelings or not. Right or wrong that's just who he is . BCU should have did there research because you can ask any of his Raven teammates and they will tell you if Ed saw something wrong he is going to express his feelings and could give a damn who likes it or not . i'm looking at his "mannerisms", not the essence of what he said. take for example the video of him sitting with his attorney. it appeared as if he couldn't mentally contain himself, almost looked like he had the "jitters". his attorney had to settle him down cuz dude looked like he was 'bout to "explode". those are the physical traits i'm referring, not what he said or complained about. to me, its not so much about the essence of what he said. to me, its more about "how" he said what he said (unacceptable, inexcusable "profanity") and his "body language". nobody ever said whether what he said was true or not, that's not the point. instead, the point is his "presentation", how he presents himself both verbally and visibly...

to me, that's the biggest difference between bcu athletics now versus bcu athletics for the previous 30 years under lynn thompson as their athletic director. when they were in the meac, i always felt that lynn thompson was the best ad in the meac. virtually all of bcu's teams under him (not just football) were consistent conference championship contenders. i even lobbied for him to become meac commissioner when thomas resigned and lynn retired from bcu. if i'm not mistaken, i think lynn thompson is now a "consultant" for the meac. i agree, i'm not so sure that theus is the right man for the job as bcu's athletic director... all these issues aren't new and we're going on under Lynn Thompsons tenure as well i'm not referring to those so called "issues". rather i'm referring to the overall "performance" of bcu athletics. when thompson was there, there were no 2-9 football seasons like bcu had the last 2 seasons under theus. under thompson, bcu almost never had a losing season, period. certainly not since the early 2000's. the "worst" record that i can remember bcu having under thompson was a 5-6 season maybe twice out of the last 20 years thompson was there. won't no 2-9 seasons, that's for doggone sure. now regarding bcu's so called "issues", that's a totally different discussion that i'm not referring to. i'm referring to the overall "performance" of bcu athletics when thompson was there compared to the last 2 years under theus...

Well, Ed said he turned down the Jackson State job to take the BCU job. Why do you think those 2 schools wanted to employ him? They saw how he dressed, wore his hair with a long beard.
Evidently his appearance did not bother them as it has some righteous folks on this site.

But isn't the AD responsible for the facalities and lack their of? Isn't he ultimately for his team not having enough helmets and uniforms being stored off campus in a U Haul storage facility?

Bro ,this man is straight lying , he said "Deion called him to offer him the job at JSU" ,but I personally watched the post game press conference after the SWAC championship game when Deion announced he was leaving ,and who he had picked to be his successor , TC who is the current coach . I said it before and I'll say it again ,my criticism of him is not his appearance but his intellect .The man has no,none whatsoever ,"impulse control", and just because you say some bullisht with passion it's still bullisht . One last thing I guarantee he never ,never ever, showed up to training camp in the NFL without a "signed contract" , who does that ,and then start throwing temper tantrums ,and expect to be hired .

The AD is responsible for requesting the necessary changes and needs for the athletes and the athletic department . Those request are the subject of approval or not by the administration leadership pertaining to anything outside of his athletic budget . Also I personally think that Reed had a change of mind about taking the position after the handshake gentleman's agreement and arriving on campus having to do cleanup duty and the office situation. I think he needed away out to save face . Put BCU on blast and have them show you the door and let the HBCU world 🌎 think what ever good or bad .
