I think we had enough talent in years past to overcome poor coaching at times. But now, we are in leagues where coaching actually matters. Last season the talent gaps were not that far apart from team to team and we saw that the championship came down to coaching. That being said, I have no reasonable expectations that our fortunes will change. #DoomandGloom I'm not one to give up on people, especially this group of individuals. I've always believed that qb play matters the most. I'm in agreement with many that the OC has to put the qb in position to make plays and score points. As for the coaching, they brought us some major victories in the past against higher profile programs, doing what they do. We'll just have to see how the present adversity is dealt with. I like the coaches but, they haven’t changed anything from 3 or 4 years ago. You have to evolve as a coach or the game will pass you by. Case and point, Andy Reid has been coaching 20 plus years but, he’s not doing the same ole thing he was doing with McNabb. He’s has evolved his playbook year over year. Those that don’t have that ability, don’t stay around long. They can hit their high then after that, it’s all downhill. So, it’s not personal attacks on our coaches, it’s the reality in which live as far as football is concerned.

While a student in the early 80's, A&T has always tried to get the community to support athletics. Seeking support from local media and car dealerships was a start. Like a lot of locations where HBCUs exist, the makeup of these cities proved to be challenging when seeking support. By this I mean putting people in the stands that don't look like you. Even now and after all of the winning over the years, it's still a challenge. This is why we need alumni near and far being in the stands. I really don't think you'll get the support from many of the locals due to economic and social concerns. But that doesn't mean we don't keep trying. I'm of the belief, you put a winning product out there, they'll come eventually. I believe if we make people feel welcomed and enhance the stadium atmosphere to a D1 atmosphere people will come. Simple things like a high school day could put butts in the seat. Make the games entertaining beyond what’s going on between the yard lines. Promote the games better I know for fact they do a terrible job at that. It’s so much they can do and I’m not one to settle for bull shii, I have high expectations and I believe these can be achieved. Hell we on the doorsteps of becoming a R1 HBCU. Hmmm...some of the things you mentioned have already been done. Promotions cost money, if more is desired then more money is needed to pay for it.

When has the city of Greensboro, as a whole, ever supported A&T? i graduated in 1980 and we had "great" support from the greensboro "black" community back then. how do i know? because back in those days, we Nupes used to sell the aggie souvenir program booklets at all home games. so we covered the entire stadium selling programs and i used to always see folk from the community there, you could even see some of them walking from their nearby homes to aggie stadium. but once they put up the "prison fence" that they call the game zone and jacked up the ticket prices, it ran a lot of the local community away...

Didn’t get to see much of the 3rd and 4th qtr(power went out)…any bright spots? NDSU took their foot off the gas & played their 2's while we kept our 1's in. I wonder how we will respond vs Duke? They could hang 70+ on us. Cutcliffe was too much of a gentleman to do that, but their new coach is trying to create a culture & identity & won't care. cutcliffe wasn't so much of a gentleman either, i recall him calling a "fake punt" against us even though he had a double digit lead against us and he never stopped passing the ball even late in the game when the game was already decided...

Not to mention going for it on fourth down.
Gentleman Cutcliffe, now that's an absolute riot.

What's the largest AAF/Aggie club?
Honestly I think for a city with like five four year colleges in it including one that's larger than ours, we're getting a fair amount of support.
Damn we way off topic. This is crazy.
If we want or expect support like NDSU gets it won't happen but it's possible. If we WIN like they do then we get increased support. Everybody wants to be associated with a winner. That's why NDSU is popular in that whole region, and that's why when I worked at UPS in Greensoboro in undergrad I loaded trucks in an NDSU Bison sweatshirt. Because it was for sale at the GREENSBORO TJ Maxx where I also worked and I knew they had a history of winning on the d-2 level.
EVERYBODY wants to be associated with a winner.

We have to rebuild the football program based in the new neighborhood we're moving into. That's going to take at least three years of better coaching, better facilities, bigger budget. NDSU had a winning program in D2 and their first three years in FCS they went 8-3, 7-4, 10-1 and never looked back.
Can Coach win out after the Duke game?

Wonder if we left a small impression on the young man, we could have an inside track. Something maybe to explore...

Tutten, Graves and Dixon are all underclassmen. That dude would not see the field for us.
