Blackie, why do you continue to struggle with referencing a quote. That has been kicking your azz for the past 5 years.

Thrilla my referencing is very minute compared to the state of our athletic department. Is that the best you can do.
You and others are against change. It is plain as day that the department needs a change thoroughly and should start with Hilton.
He had a good run but we need new fresh blood to move us to the next step. There are qualified people who can replace him and our sub par coaches.
You can'see that.

What happened with the kickoff team today giving up the returns to midfield?

Thrilla give me the specif reasons why you think Hilton shouldn't be replaced or fired.
As I said he had a good run. But as in life it is what have you done for me lately.
He has fired 2 head basketball coaches in the past 2 years that he hired. He lost a dynamite track coach and athletes to Tennessee. His baseball team is sub par and the softball team is so so. No swim team anymore. Other sports are average except for bowling.
Poor decisions has put our athletic department in the hole and in disarray. Money spent unnecessarily because of his poor decisions.
He is a poor fund raiser. That is the main purpose of today's AD'S. That is the reasons the majority of AD'S are fired because they can't raise monies.
Thrilla, I bet you were a supporter of Jerry Eaves who coached here for almost 10 years and still did not win 100 games.
Change is necessary when "stuff" get stagnant. We are stagnant at this time. Look at our major sports and the coaches Hilton hired.
There are people out there that can replace him and do a better job in all areas of the job.
You and Martin are afraid of real change.

I am not adverse to seeing wholesale changes all throughout our athletic department. I was just interested in finding out what your actual grievances were with Hilton specifically.
My biggest issues are his lack of an overall communication/marketing strategy and very little economic development. I do not think the current job requirements are the same that he was hired for in 2011.

I'm not choosing sides in this argument.....but if Hilton doesn't have: 1) At least 5-10 names of football coaches to replace Washington 2) At least 5-10 names of basketball coaches to replace Shumpert
He needs to go.....and I will specifically be looking into both issues over these next few weeks. For Christ's sake, we're moving to the Colonial Athletic Association.....either you're gonna step your game up or you need to step off.

We’re less prepared to join the CAA than we were to play NDSU.

I predict us going 0-4 to start conference play. If we do win any games it’ll be a dog fight. It’s so hard to see this program dominate or even above .500 with the current head coach even though it was possible before. He’s not a head coach, we need someone with football IQ and common sense across the board to lead this ship. The discipline this team lacks should be enough to pull the plug but I guess some people still have faith somehow somewhere. Won’t be surprised if the transfer portal starts popping

The way we operate is so trash, we can’t do simple things like promotion for our teams and fundraisers. I always wondered why we don’t try harder to bring Greensboro out to the football games, the stadium should be looking like a mad house on gamedays

We’re less prepared to join the CAA than we were to play NDSU. the only thing we may be able to compete for n is track and that’s a big maybe. We lost a lot of talent. Everybody else got clapped in the big south so I know it’ll be worse in the CAA

The AAF is responsible for fundraising…
Again, the schools main priority has been raising money for academics
We hit a $200M endowment we can keep our enrollment high which provides athletics fees.

We have a large inventory of unsold seats at most games that could be strategically priced to attract local families.
But then again, that's where marketing comes into play.

They can do so much better but I avoid that conversation.
