You sure. Cause I'm watching 71 getting thrown around on the oline EVERY PLAY by 99 from NDSU. We blaming Barnette for that too To be fair, 99 is a NFL caliber player. I’m absolutely blaming Washington. They’re both seniors. 71 is 300 pounds, 99 is 282. The difference comes down to conditioning and technique. 99 very well may be NFL caliber. Part of Coach Washington’s job is to produce NFL caliber players. He’s had enough time. Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. I appreciate that Celebration Bowl win but Coach Smalls is clearly not getting it done. Tried to tell ya’ll last season.

Hey let's face it, other than the loss to NCCU, we knew we would limp into the SC State game with a losing record. Now we know it will be 0-3! But what is upsetting most of us is we don't think this team is coached well enough to beat any of the Big South teams we will face. Arguing about who should start, who should call plays or what plays should be called is pointless with this incompetent coaching staff. We've got serious problems and it's not going to get any better!

Bright spot - Tutten had the most running yards in 3 seasons I think they said..
I am still hoping for a something to happen special w this program. NDSU beat us like they beat everyone else - and no one in our conference would have had a better outcome tbh..
We are not the same team when we scheduled this, but that does not mean this team cannot win the Big South and give us a post season season. Maybe that will help them get their swag back.

I noticed how NDS players deescalate the "black people football" crap after the whistle. Ours guys try to jaw jack and they pat them on the butt and be like "good job boss" and walk away. They leave our guy baffled and with nothing to say. Somebody said this staff was inconsistent… Not true, look at their record: 10-2, 9-3, 5-6. That’s a consistent decline. Somebody said he won with Broadway’s recruits? That’s not it either. On paper this team is just as talented as any of Broadway’s. But Broadway’s team was taught fundamentals. This team doesn’t execute coverage. Poor angles. Collects penalties. Great at running their mouth but lost when they run into a team that knows how to get in their head. Come on, Coach Small made it plain when he said the only reason he’s here is the Chancellor and AD made him come.

I’m not mad at Washington or Barnette. Neither one of them promoted themselves to positions they weren’t prepared for. Well, Washington promoted Barnette I guess but that’s about it.
As I said in the past, when we lost Broadway we also lost Washington as d-coordinator, Hester as o-coordinator, and Barnette as qb coach. Folks had to or chose to do double-duty and we lost God knows how many years of institutional knowledge that we failed to replace. It was only a matter of time. We might eek out three wins this year. If we can hang onto our roster and make a proper hire for our next coach I can honestly see us being one of the most improved teams next year, even in the CAA.

I was really hoping to not type this... but I am in agreement. This needs to be Washington's last year. He and most of the staff are over their heads. Even if we run the table I am not confident in our long term success under Washington.

Glad I missed the damn ... whatever ... game. We are pretenders as a football team. Ain't nothing gone change until Chancellor Martin comes to his senses and fire Hilton, Washington and break down and spend some money to get some competent coaches in football, basketball, baseball and hockey.
Our athletic program is in dissaray and has declined tremendously in quality teams. The department needs a breath of fresh air from the top to the bottom.
Our Chancellor has pushed for us to move up in sports but won't hire competent people to move us forward.
I know Hilton has done a decent job but it is time for him to go. We need a damn change in this position.
If we want to hang with the so called "Big Dawgs" we got to make positive moves to hang with them.
Chancellor Martin needs to be honest and quit hanging on to dead weight and make changes Now. If he doesn't we gone be talking the same O negative smack this time next year.
