I sure hope Johnson brings a few folks from NC State If he brings anything it will be distance runners because that's all state had . I think people are panicking over nothing . Let's let Johnson do his thing do his thing . I haven't looked up NC State's track record in recent years but I don't remember hearing them mentioned in Eugene or at the Olympics. Hopefully he'll have better luck getting talent to A&T!

I’m not sure if NC State really invested into their T&F program to the extent A&T invests into their program. I’m not talking comparing true dollar amounts either. Do they have top facilities within their conference? Did they produce olympians in 21 or world championship participants? He may have an easier time landing recruits here than in Raleigh.

NCSU/ACC has never really been a T&F Focused Conference . But NCSU and the ACC Conference has produced some outstanding individual event athletes ,especially in the Distances-CX events and some Sprints . Katelyn Tuohy won Silver 5000 at the NCAA .State/ACC facilities are Track friendly but in a Football, Basketball, Baseball focused conference.

If our recent T&F dominance was not just a Ross-built aberration, what is the regular ROI we're expecting with our track & field program?
Since we already have the facilities and infrastructure, does Johnson need to come in here and get a top 25 ranking next season?

What's our realistic baseline expectations the next 3 or 4 years for Johnson? We didn't exactly collect Big South T&F Team Championship trophies with our previous Powerhouse squad. Are we basing success on the amount of individual athlete accolades, final team rankings, conference, regional or National Championships? Some may just be happy with how we perform compared to Rosses new program. Very interested in the answers.

My expectations are simple. Afford Johnson with what he states he needs for us to compete nationally, graduate our student athletes, and equip them with what they need to represent ayantee in the fashion she deserves.
The result is we have a criteria to hold Johnson accountable, our young men and women matriculate to their professional endeavors, and ayantee remains the beacon that she is.

MOAggie5 I agree with everything you said. Your post should fit for any of our athletic programs
I see Thrilla question more of hard line specific. What do we expect In terms of performance / national ranking
To be honest we have lost a lot via transfer and decommits. I hope we can stay in the Top 25. No shade at Johnson but Ross may have meant more to our success than we know

Johnson is already failing his first major test which is finding a way to retain the talent on the roster. It doesn't help that his social media presence has been slow to reflect his new job.
I understand Ross' own kids would leave with him, but he is essentially out-recruiting Johnson for the other current athletes at this university too.
You would like to see Hilton and Johnson sit down and meet with those kids and convince them to stay.

Some say if they don’t want to be here let them go . 🤷🏾♂️ Really it’s the new Coaches job to immediately share his or her vision and get kids to at least begin to buy in.

Waiting to see who will stay; But so far the names I have seen leaving are good enough to score at nationals. KY and LSU Also got athletes. Hicklin will score at nations again for LSU not so sure about Jackson at KY ... Mustari ( 110H) is going to be as good as ROSS and Harding . As for a staff , he may already have one but hasn't announced. Information gets to us late... But I am waiting on some good news related to signings ( we will have a lot of scholarships to give). Probably will be transfers rather than freshmen ( the good - program changers-ones should be signed by now) When he was announced as the new coach , kids were in Oregon or gone home ... Zoom/ face time recruiting may have been less than ideal as opposed to actually sitting down with them.

Moaggie5 said it best . Affording Johnson the opportunity to do what he needs to do and let the rest play itself out .
