It feels like we are becoming a commuter school. Honestly Thrilla, we are the same as we were when I was on campus in the early 90's, the same as we were in the mid 80's when my brother was there, and the same now with my daughter here, mind you with twice the enrollment now. This is a situation honestly of unrealistic expectations. I would be interested in seeing the number of public institutions our size or larger who house a higher percentage of students than we do.

And our housing is in a much better place than it was even back in the 2000s when I was a student. BTW: The Apartments off Elm-Eugene and the ones off Wendover near the Target, Wal-Maart, and Costco have vacancies. If they can get roommates, they can split the rent and save money.

Are JRs and SRs staying on campus more now? When I was in school(05-10) seemed like mainly freshmen and sophomores stayed on campus. Seemed like there was a new student apartment boom going on, so a lot of upper classmen took advantage of that.

Are JRs and SRs staying on campus more now? The University has secured more apartment style housing for Juniors and Seniors that count as on campus housing.

Thanks John & Thrilla.
Tired of this issue being labeled/discussed like it's only at HBCU universities.

Also the lack of housing infrastructure (safe, decent, affordable, and walking distance) in east Greensboro is the bigger issue.
No college can meet the housing demand.

Thanks John & Thrilla. Tired of this issue being labeled/discussed like it's only at HBCU universities. Indeed, this is not just an HBCU issue...and no one seems to recognize that A&T actually has more available housing as a percentage than other schools. NCAT has more apartment beds coming by the fall of next year, a new dorm planned, and another has been recommended. Hell, I remember back during my time in the early 90s when students were complaining about not having space in some of the worst dorms in the whole UNC System...but hey, kids nowadays don't know or care about that

You always wanna get out front on issues like this. Put out fires and control the narrative...or otherwise someone else will.
