Serious answers please, would we have gotten this investment if we were not in the BSC? Here me out…
His dealerships are in three states NC, GA and SC. The majority of the BSC are in NC and SC which are states his dealerships are located in…the BSC track championships will be held on that track. From a marketing perspective athletes, fans and parents from NC and SC will be there and be directly marketed to.
The tv coverage will say live from “Johnson track in the campus of NC A&T “
Johnson Automotive Group (JAG) – one of the largest Black-owned franchise dealer groups in the country with locations in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

I guess it could have played a factor, but I would think having Olympians and becoming relevant on the nation level the last few years being the bigger factors. Then add in the the state HS championships and the Junior Olympic nationals being held there on a regular basis. No way to confirm it, but I would think the HS championships combined with junior Olympic events bring in more athletes, family and fans from NC, SC and GA than the BSC championship will bring. Also unless advertising space for the dealerships is included with the donation, you would have to Google him to know he owns dealerships.

Just curious to know how the funds get dispersed. Is it exclusive to T&F or entire athletic program

Help me understand what has happened here -
Wasn't the track formerly named for Iwrin Belk? Now, it's being named for Marcus Johnson? How does that happen? He with the deepest pockets wins? So, what happens to Irwin Belk?

I think once we replaced the original track that Irwin Belk paid for with this new surface, all bets were off.
What have you done for me lately? Gotta have a J-O-B if you wanna get with me. Ro-mance without Fi-nance is a Nui-sance.

i dunno, i certainly don't have an extra $350k to donate to the track program, wish i did. but at the same time, to me a $350k donation doesn't warrant renaming the track after a donor. just my opinion.
i could see if it was at least $1 million or more, but $350k? reportedly, that's not even enough to finance the resurfacing of the track. indeed its a "very generous" donation that we should be tremendously grateful for, but i don't think it warrants renaming the track. maybe name a scholarship or something like that after the donor...

This made my eyebrow raise too, but I wasn't going to say anything. Glad you did. LOL.
