The fact we are even having a QB debate is awesome. A&T hasn't had a great QB room in awhile Do you mean pre - Lamar Raynard, Quick, And Carter? Because that was a great room Yep, the Quick, Raynard, Carter room is the one that has us on what I believe to be the greatest HBCU run EVER. Matter of fact, Carter saved us at SCSU as a True Freshman in 2015. Otherwise I wonder if we would have done so well since then.

Because that was a great room I don't remember them all being here at same time . Quick was dismissed from team in April 2015. And Klugh left for UNCC Spring 2015 And Raynard was thrown in as starter that fall 2015. I thought Carter showed up showed up Fall 2015. Raynard and Carter were together, just don't think Quick was here

He was our starting QB in the 2015 CB. Carter was a true freshman in the fall of 15.

Raynard, Carter and Quick are gone. We are now in the present and I believe in Coach Washington and his staff to know what they are doing.
Coach Washington has done a great job coaching, recruiting and everything else to make us winners.
We need to stop doubting his abilities and decisions. I don't think any person on this site has ever coached football on our level.
I trust Coach Washington any day to "y'all" or yall.

Carter and Fowler had an equal sample size going into their first year as starters, save Carter getting an actual start vs SSU. I'd argue Fowler was the better passer while Carter was just more of a playmaker, we saw some of that against FAMU iirc. Carter had stretches where he couldnt get a yard out of the offense and Fowler would come in and move the chains or score. The man earned this shot, how he handles it is on him. true, he earned the shot cuz nobody else on the team has anymore experience than he does. but let’s not equate carter’s experience prior to starting to fowler’s. as a backup, carter got a lot of his experience in “big games” (i.e., scsu, kent state, ecu) and “finished” those games except kent state due to an injury. fowler’s backup experience doesn’t equate to that. also as a backup, carter played in almost “every game”. not so for fowler, especially his freshman year when he hardly ever got off the bench and he played “sparingly” as a backup 2 seasons ago. fowler’s backup experience is nowhere remotely close to carter’s. also as you mentioned, carter played “an entire game” against ssu as a backup. fowler has “never” played an entire game in college. carter’s body of work as a backup, “far exceeded” fowler’s body of work as a backup. while i agree that fowler earned his shot to become the #1 qb, that doesn’t mean he’s gonna “out perform” those who came before him. i’ll be happy if he proves me wrong, but we’ll just have to wait and see... I'll admit to being wrong on the sample size, I tend to forget about his snaps prior to 2018 and was making a direct comparison to the amount of snaps they both took prior to their first full year as the starter. Carter did play about 75% more snaps so it isn't apples to apples but the completion percentages, passer rating, and limited turnovers are similar to one another. It's reasonable to believe he can be a capable passer for us so long as he is able to hover around those percentages on a higher snap count. I also agree that it would have been nice to see more from him but this is just a part of the game with how fluid the roster is in CFB, it is frustrating from this side not to know for sure until we see it on the field but hopefully the system will take care of itself by the time the team pulls up on Furmam. I like the dogs we have in our yard but it would have been nice to land one of those NC offers from the 2022 class.

Just got back from watching this morning's practice session, and I can honestly say this was the best I have ever seen Fowler look in person.
He dropped a pair of absolute dimes to Korey Banks and Ron Hunt for long touchdown passes in the back of the endzone. I mean, he couldn't have placed the balls better if he had dropped them down with a remote control drone.
Everything was perfect: footwork, arm mechanics, decisiveness in his reads, ball velocity.
This was just one practice in what was basically no-contact drills ... but if he plays like this next month when the games count, Fowler will be first team Big South.
