Taking our Aggie glasses off & being objective... the coach should go with the cat with the faster split that didn't have a handoff issue. Again... I get it & I'm glad 7 young black US men got gold medals, including our 2. 7 young black men always get medals at the Olympics🤷🏾‍♂️, that isn’t special. Black people always run fast and jump high, only reason why a lot of black men are at ACC and sec, pac 12 schools. Again deadmon has never beaten Ross, Ross’ split is slower because he actually ran further than deadman. It's not about who beat who before the Olympics. As a coach, it's about what you are NOW at the Olympics. Randolph had 2 questionable performances out of 2. Deadmon had a clean performance. And when you look at the splits from the final... Norman's 2nd leg was just as fast as Deadmon's. Again... it's tough to objectively make the argument that Randolph should have been on over Deadmon. I don't like saying that. But the evidence of the situation is leaning that way.

Looking at the splits, it was the right move.

The strategy of a semi (physically & mentally) is quite different from a final. Imo, its difficult to directly compare results from the two.

Some of you are making something out of nothing here .

Jr. was slighted; he legitimately made the team and the decision was political (in my opinion). Nonetheless, he surely has motivation for Paris which is less than 3 years away! He'll be stronger, more experienced and will be a pro by that time and not have the NCAA championships to train for. Barring injury, the kids best days are ahead of him!

Not a track know it all. Really not even a novice. However, it might be splits times that determined who ran in the gold round, but also our two men fumbling that baton pass in the qualifying round could also have been a determining factor.
The coach caught hell when the 4x100 team dropped the baton. Carl Lewis and others questioned the right order that the men ran in and the proper coaching technique to pass the baton. Carl said they looked like an AAU team.
The coach was probably under pressure and fire to not have the baton drop episode to not happen again. Undoubtedly, in my novice estimation our fumble of the baton pass may have been the determining factor in who ran.
Our Aggie athletes Stewart and Ross did their jobs in getting us qualified to get the team in the Gold round. I am proud of them for achieving this prestigious accomplishment.

From a visual standpoint, which is what everyone wants to see, we were robbed of that!

My first reaction was like most …political ….but when you look at the splits combined with 2 unorthodox handoffs ….nothing to see here. Just good move by the Coach.
There is a ton of 💩to call foul on but this ain’t one of them.

IJS, The Coaches teams lost to NCA&T when it mattered the most.

Ross passed two runners and passed the stick off first so I would think he ran further ... Deadmon and Norwood ran in the first lane all the way. Stewart came out of the blocks so how do you compare his split with the guys who didn't ? What would Deadmon run if he started and Stewart ran the third leg? Cherry Norman and Ross earned their slots by being the top 3 in the trials. Since Deadmon is not clearly faster than Ross. Ross ( as I see it) should have been on the team. ... Benjamin projected as sub 44 guy so his addition was talked about during the trials. But as many have said maybe the coach worried about Ross' exchange. But the way I see it , he looked for a reason to use Deadmon
Question since all the women were replaced except Felix , did the Livingston woman get a Gold? Don't think she ran in 4x4 semi-finals. Two Gold medal winners so I am through with the issue. Ready for XC

My final words on this, for me it was bigger for me to have our kids and NCA&T’s name mentioned on that podium, grateful for the trophy, but next month when they show the medal run, it will be other universities names talked about.

The coach made the right move . Also it does not matter who or what you did before the Olympics T&F is like all sports it's a ( what have you done for me lately ) type of thing .
