That is where she should have gone in the first place, we want our most gifted students to attend HBCUs but our most gifted professors want to teach at other schools 🤷🏾♂️

UNC needs to be ashamed of itself. I know a lot of black folks love them some Carolina..... ....but from the sham classes that involved, out of all classes, African American studies to this fiasco to the school body president telling black students to look for a place other than UNC to be nurtured....UNC needs to be in FULL DAMAGE CONTROL when it comes to race relations/racial inclusion. They have been faltering tremendously.
This interview is a punch in the gut to that university. You know she wanted to teach there, and for them to treat her like this....there will be some long-term race-related repercussions to come from this.
I don't care how Charlie Scott integrated the ACC years ago by coming to UNC.... I don't care how Hubert Davis is their head basketball coach.... I don't care how many black professionals have matriculated from their top-line schools.....
THIS HAS BEEN EMBARRASSING AND UNACCEPTABLE
Ain't no way a black high school student or black student seeking a postgraduate education isn't gonna take a pause before automatically considering UNC to further his/her education....and rightfully so.

They should, but they won't. Especially in today's microwave society. UNC has a pretty bad history across the board when it comes to us, but I still have classmates that brag when their children are accepted to go there.

Why did we not offer her tenure, I’m happy she went to a HBCU, but why didn’t we pursue her?

Carolina has always been a racist institution. I wish some of our alumni would quit wearing their jerseys and paraphernalia. I wish black people would quit saying "we" lost to Duke last night and ain't never been on campus or no where Carolina is.
If Carolina played the Russians I would pull for the Russians.

Well, she was comfortable there, until they told her she was not welcomed, no matter her credentials and awards. She is an alum of unc-ch's grad program. Her undergrad work was at notre dame. So, unfortunately many people in the Black community believe that white institutions are way better than even Howard. Many of us have neighbors who would rather watch an ACC game than attend a A&T game.
