They should, but they won't. Especially in today's microwave society. UNC has a pretty bad history across the board when it comes to us, but I still have classmates that brag when their children are accepted to go there. That whole parents' bragging rights thing is real! You're right heard a cat boast my daughter goes to UNC-G with elation, then I see folk wearing UNC-Chapel Hill, Duke stuff even have tags on their cars oh well. Guess this is a sign of validation?

I think there are two things going on:
1. "ice is colder syndrome" accompanied by some elements of brainwashing and self-hate. 2. Money. Until we can offer a commensurate amount of scholarships, we will be behind the 8-ball. There hundreds of schools with endowments that allow them to offer scholarship money that we can not match as HBCUs. A few of our schools can, but most cannot. My neighbor across the street's daughter is going to the University of Indiana. I asked him why there? He said they offered the most money.
Even with the "social justice money" we got this year, we may be able to offer maybe 70 full non-athletic scholarships per year out of an incoming class that averages 2500 freshmen.

One of my professors at T told me teaching at an hbcu is a labor of love. He said his colleagues at pwcs generally taught less classes, got more resources, and had more free time to perform scholarly research and writing.
It’s not that homegirl was never offered a slot at an hbcu. She knew we existed and could’ve made the exact move for funding had she desired. That Carolina ice was nice and cold when she attended there and she was more than happy to keep enjoying it afterwards.
I ain’t gonna trip, take a good deal if you can get it. But we should acknowledge that all else being equal if she initially had a choice between Carolina, Howard, some Ivy League, and like Yeshiva U or something, Howard would’ve come in last.

Let's be real and look in the mirrow darkly for the ecleciasticals we are on the movd as a people and no stopping us now. It is a revolution of the mind that is happening so get on board. Many are called few are chosen. Our challenge in this period is for us to truly engage in that potent undying love for each other and we will be alright. She could have looked at Tennessee state where Samuel Yette gradurate who told us of the plandamic in his seminal book The Choice the Issue of Black Survival which is still relevant. If she came to Ayantee we would have messed it up
