I fully agree. Have you seen any off season changes with our coaching staff that would make you expect a lot of production from a 7 footer on our roster? Bruce Martin was working out Filmore and Harry this spring. He was new to the staff this year, we'll see. Also with two grad assistants, it may free up time for the coaches to be more focused on individual development.

I'd love to have him on the team, but it's been proven repeatedly we don't know what to do with bigs in our current system.... Thomas Coleman and James Porter were the last two heavily used big men I can remember in Corbett. To do with them or how to coach them ? When a Big is coached properly implementing them into your system is not the problem. The problem is the coaching or lack of coaching . Thomas Coleman really blossomed his senior year under the tutelage of WSSU former head coach, after Eaves finally hired someone with the ability to coach big men. Coleman wasted three years. So did Whitter (sp?). Both of those guys were athletic.

The only HBCU within the last decade I remember effectively using a 7ft player is Texas Southern with Trayvon Reed. I'll give Morgan State an honorable mention with Ian Chiles. It looks like Hampton is experimenting with Dajour Dickens. A little movement in the right direction but not much . A&T had a 7 footer and we still have an 6'11 Harry that Jones used like two Yo Yo's especially Harry even when the young man was playing good Jones pulled him . We lost the 7 footer to the portal but Harry is still around . I honestly think if it was not for Harry's love for the engineering program he would have been long gone to . I doubt things will change any with the big men under Jones system but we will see .

How many Guards dose a team need It shows you there’s no plan to compete on the next level NCAA playoffs, or develop big men.

actually, to be honest, its far more difficult to sign a "quality big" than it is to sign a "quality guard". guards are "plentiful", bigs are not...

What's even more frustrating is you sign a big with quality potential and they have no idea how to develop them let alone use them in within a system. There are very few biggs that are college ready in all areas . That is were competent coaching comes in identifier and Coach up their weaknesses and develop upon their strengths . I'm very doubtful that Jones can coach any type of Big Quality or not based on what I have seen . I hope I'm wrong but I don't think I am .

That will tell me all I need to know.
