Citadel are way below our team man to man, but as a team well then scoreboard doesn't lie. In Melbourne they would say " scoreboard idiot". Sorry then squad is too big and we don't know how to play. My advice to Harry is move on. He is not part of coach John's program and that is fine by me. He doesn't fit so let this season pan out and we will play ball elsewhere.

It doesn't matter who we get back.....I don't know what our offensive philosophy is. They outexecuted us in the 2nd half. They ran their stuff and bashed our heads in. This is a humbling loss. We have a good team, but not good enough to just go out on the floor for 40 minutes and beat a team without a plan of attack. That's something the coaching staff has gotta fix.

We were 1-9 from 3-pt land in the second half. They were 7-18.
Size matters. They blocked too many penetration shots because the guards would not pass off penetration enough. The same thing happened in the Illinois game. Bright spot: Tyler Jones

Right now this team does not have any umph. The Jones boys are not the Jackson boys of last year.
We don't rebound with authority or when it counts. All year long the hustle has been lackadaisical. The coaching was bad as hell in this game.
Those boys out hustled us and made big stops when necessary.
We ain't got no shooters except Fred and he shot poor as hell tonight. Langley's drives to the hoop have been weak the last 2 games.
We were fortunate to beat Charleston.
This year may be long!!

I did not see the game so will someone that did please tell what da hell is going on. At the start of the game you guys sound like we are the Harlem Globetrotters playing the Washington Generals. So why are we playing so poorly? Is it lack of talent, lack of effort or lack of coaching? Or all of the above?

In a weird way I don’t feel that badly about this loss, due to the time of the season.

It was disappointing, but I would like to see more from our coaching staff. Dorsett got promoted to Assistant Head Coach and has a lot of championship experience in the Big South. I like Jones, but this coaching up teams just for the MEAC competition needs to cease.
There's a lot more ball being played outside of our backyard. Continuing to try and draw fouls when you haven't had the last 3 or 4 called in your favor why continue with the plan and look lost? Lol

Our gameplan went out of the window because of the early foul trouble along with our bigs being unable to control the paint area tonight. Also, please note that we didn't run hardly any scrimmages and our training was limited due to Covid. It's a weird season, to say the least. But do not fret. We still have a really good chance to finish the season with an above .500 OOC record.

I was going to pay for a picture of me for the seats in Corbett. Based on our play I still plan to make the donation but my picture might have a bag covering my face.

To me, it came down to this.....The Citadel played SoCon basketball. A&T played MEAC basketball. We have to up our quality of play....it's as simple as that. We would've beaten most MEAC teams tonight with the way we played. The Citadel ain't in the MEAC. The talent is there....I think this game highlights how Coach Jones has to tighten up on his tactical approach. Hey, they is his first year as a head DI coach. He's no finished product. He's gotta make sure he has an idea on how he wants to attack the opposition.
I'm disappointed with the loss, but not bent out of shape. However, we have to play a better brand of ball out of conference.

Even if we ran the table from here on out, we'd be hard-pressed to get an At-Large bid out of the MEAC. That may change once we're in the Big South, however, that's unlikely. While great, these games are merely just glorified scrimmages for us until we can get into a place were we can gain At-Large considerations.

I understand your frustration, but I hope that you don't give up at this juncture (so early) in the season. I'm hoping that both of you will hang in there...or at least have a coach's conference to get some clarity.

This stretch of SoCon and Big South games will definitely get us plenty of tape for BS conference play in Jan 2021.

Honestly, honestly have to give credit where it is due, and that one guy Hayden Brown, single handedly beat us.
About 6-4, 215, cut up, not greatest basketball player ever but out worked every player on the floor tonight. Understood the nuances of the game of basketball and beat us with effort and basketball IQ.

So you're saying don't take basketball serious until we play conference games? The Ls on our early schedule don't matter at all?
