Players are always getting hurt. Someone will need a Tarik Cohen type running back later this season. true, and the good news about tarik is that he was being used as much as a "receiver" as he was as a running back. if he's not able to "weight train" his lower body as much as he did before the injury, he stands a better chance to succeed as a "slot receiver" which is far less physical than running back. either way, i still think its gonna be an uphill climb for our guy cohen. i've got this poster of cohen (below) hanging on the wall in my home exercise room... It will definitely be a challenge. But many teams need a versatile player like Tarik. I would think he would be in line for a one year contract.

wow! he sounds "confident". and i can tell by how he looks in the face that he's lost weight and firmed up since the last picture i've seen of him. man, i really hope he can make that "comeback". i swear, the last time i saw him he looked "overweight" compared to how he used to look. now he appears to have that look back that we're accustomed to seeing from him.
btw, they say that nfl rb's don't last long because of the constant "pounding" that their bodies take. but tarik hasn't played for 2 years, so that's 2 years of "wear and tear" that his body didn't take. so even though tarik is 28 years old, relative to "wear and tear", he's essentially 26 years old. plus, because chicago didn't use him as an every down rb, he should still have a lot of mileage left in his tank...

So OSA you've evolved on your thinking? You seemed to not share my optimism on the previous page of this thread. I truly believe Tarik will find himself on another NFL roster. He has beaten the odds to many times to ignore.

He has beaten the odds to many times to ignore. not sure what you're referring to, but i "am not" optimistic that he'll make an nfl team's opening day 53 man active roster for the reasons i've previously stated. however, that doesn't mean that i'm not pulling for him. i "always" call things as i see them, not what i "want" to see. so yes, i "want" him to make somebody's opening day 53 man active roster, but i'm not optimistic that he will. i think he has a better chance of getting picked up several weeks into the season as rb's begin to suffer injuries and need to be replaced. i think that's when tarik will have a chance to join an nfl team...

First thing Tarik needs is to be worked out by a NFL team

also, i'm not convinced that tarik's achilles is as "strong" as it was before the injury. i'm confident that his acl is fully 100% healed and healthy. not so confident about the achilles.
i think tarik is gonna have to fine some "weight training" lower body exercises that do not place as much pressure on his achilles as the exercise that injured him. i think he's gonna have to back off of the "squat" type exercises a bit to avoid aggravating his achilles...

Having had a grade 4 tendon rapture that required surgery. Your correct he will have to back-off his squats, lunging exercises or any exercise that put stress on the tendon needs to be modified so as to not aggravate and put stress on the tendon itself. At Letterman Hospital on the Presidio of San Francisco the therapist had us doing a lot of pool training and swimming before we graduated to lightweight lifting routines. Truthfully I don't see The Kid coming back from this , I would like for him to but his type of running Style, Quick Stop cuts and goes will work against him with an injury like that and if he dose come back he will never be the same type of runner. He will have to know his limitations . But we will see because there's a first time for everything.
