With Nick Foles, signed by Chicago, I predict a rebirth of Cohen’s NFL splash!, What say you? The Bears are reporting a open competition, there is no competition, and they are seemingly not big on taking on the Tribuisky’s fifth year option, open door for Cam!

Trubisky was awful for all of Chicago's receivers and backs. First, he wasn't a good enough passer to get the receivers a catchable pass. And since most defenses knew the Bears couldn't depend on their passing game, that made them one dimensional. So defenses just had to shut down the Bear's running game.
Cohen is a major weapon with a QB that can hit the open receivers. Let's hope Trubisky hasn't blemished Cohen's talent so much that he doesn't get to show his skills with a decent passing QB.

my bet is that cohen will be working his azz off extra hard during this offseason to make up for a disappointing season last year, perhaps due to no false of his own. so i expect tarik to have a "bounce back" season this year, assuming the nfl has a season.
also, i recall jah-maine martin saying in an interview that he used to talk to cohen almost every day during a certain time period. so i wonder if cohen gives him tips on how to prepare for the season as a running back given that martin had a breakout season last year. i also wonder if cohen ever works out with martin and/or the rest of the aggie team during the offseason, that would be really cool...

The Kids troubles was not so much who was at QB . The Kids problems had more to do with the OC's inability to use The Kids Talent . You would think with the numbers that The Kid put up and him being named All Pro You would think that his touches would have increased . Even the great Randy Moss stated that The Kid should have no less than 10 to 15 touches a game . Yes I agree that Trubisky is not that great of a QB but he was not the main problem because the main problem was the Offensive Coordinators play calling and inability to use the talent on the team . Even with addition of Foles it's not going to change a thing until that OC decides to change up his play-calling .

Trubisky is wasting a lot of good years of many offensive players...and to think the Bears chose him above BOTH Mahomes and Watson. Unfreakin’ believable....

Is it really Trubisky or is it the OC's play calling that is "wasting a lot of good years of many offensive players " . I stated this when The Kid was drafted by the Bears " Chicago has a history of misusing the talents of small running backs" at one point I thought I was wrong because of his numbers and being selected to the Pro Bowl but I was wrong about the Chicago's OC changing it's spots . You can blame the QB's play all you want to but this all falls on the OC and his inability to identify and properly use the talent of his offensive players.

Agree with your analysis of OC, but Foles has the credentials and experience to override or audible those play calls!

Like I said before "Chicago has a history of misusing the talents of small RB's " and I don't see it changing anytime soon even with Foles at QB . I can almost guarantee if The Kid was in Kansas City or New England's system he would be ranked amongst the best utility back's in the NFL and not just a glorified kick returner. The Kid needs a OC/system that knows how to create space . His talent is being wasted in Chicago and Foles is not going to change anything in my opinion.

Dont forget Chicago is where Hicks signed originally as an UDFA, he was unfortunately 3rd string behind the original Adrian Peterson from Georgia Southern (check out his college film, unreal). It wasnt until he got to San Francisco that he got a little traction.

I put most of the blame on Trubsiky ...... Why because he would force passes down the field when the obvious choice was the check down to Cohen. Then the OC would come right back and run a set swing play to Cohen and the def would be ready with 1 on 1 linebacker coverage and a run blitzing strong safety coming down hill preventing the cutback. Trubisky inability to make good decisions killed this team and Cohen's productivity.
Foles is a walk ball down the field QB. I think Cohen will have a really good year; if Cohen gets the ball 10-15 times a game and 8 of those touches are check downs he is gone pop 2 of those for 20 plus yards plus nothing wrong with 5 yard gains. The run blitzing safety will not be there to prevent the cutback in a check down situation as he has to be down the field with over the top coverage in any pass first situation.

Chicago's offense is supposed to be similar to KC's. But when you have Trubisky as their QB, it definitely slows you down.
