Given this years record number of unsportsmanlike penalites:
I am very concern about our defensive getting a record number just in this game especially given the fact the NCCU are indiscipline and they will be talking s. all game long.
I hope Washington have stress not having this in the game.

I'm concerned a fight is going to break out in this one Given what is at stake I would think that the coaches will emphasize proper restraint from our players . Even if FAMU wins knocking us out of the CB we can not have the FCS playoff selection committee looking at A&T undesirably for unsportsmanlike actions which cost A&T a playoff invitation .

Except for last week's game, I don't have much confidence that this coaching staff can control our players. And those buzzard players know that. I just hope our lack of discipline doesn't cost us the game.

In retrospect just looking at the season . A&T's football team stated the season as one of the least penalized teams not only in the MEAC but in all of FCS football. But then the players began to believe their own hype Morgan bought them to reality we win a few games and the starting players/ team start acting out on the field again Bam FAMU gives the reality check # 2 and then it snowballs from there with the same old BS . Yes the coaching staff should have reacted Swift and firmly which coach Washington and staff may have addressed the issue but did the players retain or even care to understand the point that he was trying to make . You have a team with a large number of Sr's there is know reason that this BS should continue to happen on this Sr laden team . It is my opinion that the upper class men should do there job and Lead and stop rubber stamping this BS . This is not on the coaching staff as much as it should be on the Sr's and upper class men Players . Where the Hale is the Leadership on this team from with in the players . I remember one day at practice when Osceola Hicks jumped in Birds azz for not making a tackle on me . Hicks showed leadership. Who is showing leadership among the players on this team ? Someone needs to step up before the CB or the FCS Playoffs .

And there lies a problem. Do these players respect what the coaches tell them and will they put it into action. I think the players need to police themselves more than anytime this year. The seniors need to step up and call people out if they are getting out of line. We've seen what happens when Washington says he acknowledges the penalties and they are going to clean it up, but they never do.

NC A&T player calls NC Central 'dirty' ahead of Saturday match upBy Mark Armstrong Tuesday, November 13, 2018 07:53PM When the Eagles and Aggies get together, it usually gets heated. That figures to be the case this Saturday in Durham as Central hosts A&T in their regular season finale. There is no title at stake for NCCU, but they can play wrecking ball with the Aggies MEAC Championship hopes. Before most rivalry games, coaches and players go out of their way to avoid inflammatory statements or anything that can be used against them in the opposing locker room. But for A&T, it was a different story. Offensive lineman Maquel Hardy told the media on Tuesday that N.C. Central is "dirty" and that the Aggies challenge was to "not stoop down to their level."Article Link

A&T's football team stated the season as one of the least penalized teams not only in the MEAC but in all of FCS football. This is a myth. A&T has always been a highly penalized team, even under Broadway. Last year A&T, ranked 3rd in penalties in the MEAC, averaging 65.3 penalty yards a game. This year A&T ranks 5th in the conference, averaging 77.4 yards per game. That is the equivalent of just one more holding call. static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2017/confldrs.htm#conf.wi2static.meacsports.com/custompages/stats/football/2018/confldrs.htm#conf.wi2Overall, A&T had a total of 89 penalties last year, and so far this season we have racked up 91 penalties. Again, not that great of difference. Hell, I remember our former safety Isaiah Martin got kicked out of the NCCU game for fighting ... two years in a row. That was all under the Broadway.

The old saying is "Any press is good press". LOL It can actually work by over-hyping the Birds if they're taking time to soak in the bulletin board material (which we know they are). Hardy didn't say stoop down to their level of play. He was speaking down to their level of dirty tactics, which is well-known over the past 4 years. And Hardy is from Philly, so if anyone knows dirty when he sees it, it's him. But he's right. If we don't stoop down to their level, we'll be fine. And Hardy will have one helluva story to tell his grandkids one time about that last NCCU game he played in.

Yeahhhhh, no.
It was insulting, no two ways around it. If a central player said that Ayantee is "dirty and that central's challenge was to "not stoop down to their level" we'd be throwing uncooked tubfulls of chitlins at them before they hit the field. Meanwhile the jackoff that wrote this article would be smiling and waiting, pen in hand.
If they ask me my response is "they're a great team that plays with a lot of passion and pride, and I look forward to playing against them this weekend." Period. Over-hyped birds at their place has not gone in our favor lately, and over-hyped players from either team leads to bad press and and bad behavior.

Why oh why are we given those trash birds any type of ammo when they are down! C'mon, who is talking to the players? Keep your mouth closed and play on the field. Of course they will take it as an insult. That's like saying, "central is dirty, and we are classy and above them". WE HAVE NOT BEEN CLEAN ALL YEAR!

I think we have to remember as well that our complaint with Broadway from 2014-16 was that we didn't approach the NCCU with as much fire as they did.
In 2017, we did... and we toed the line with penalties. But we didn't cross the line like NCCU did.
So in this game... there's a balance between being too timid and going overboard. I think we're seeing some of that, which is par for the course.

My complaint with Broadway was we didn't win the game. My complaint last year was seeing the two teams bunched up pre-game like a bunch of ignant niccas.
Personally I'd like to see us win and be the adults in the room, but the two seem to be incompatible.
