I was also told from a member of the athletic department that the schedule is roughly two weeks away from being released and should include the date of the Spring Game. Regarding the Circle City Classic whispers, there is not cash payout for us if we're participating, is there? They just pay for travel, lodging & meals for our band, team, coaches and support staff, right? hbcugameday.com/2018/09/20/can-the-circle-city-classic-bounce-back/No cash payout? Wow, didn't know that. Then it's a high profile recruiting trip to the mid-west for both schools.

In my mind, I think that our AD values having as many home games as possible. A twelve game season doesn't come around every year so we should take advantage of it. I also think that our AD (as well as ALL of us, for that matter) recognize the value of a strong OOC schedule for bowl tiebreaker purposes/playoff strength-of-schedule purposes. I don't think scheduling a D-II school as our 12th opponent makes sense but we will soon see.

Presbyterian has not completed their schedule and has an opening for Sept 21. They are in their last year of competition in the Big South before joining the Pioneer Conference (non-scholarship FCS). They would be an FCS opponent that wouldn't tax us any on strength of schedule and a probable win definitely helps us in any future tie breaker scenarios because I can envision a 2 or possibly 3 teams with just one conference loss heading into Week 12 this fall.

i say schedule a "d2" team so that guys like fowler won't have to go all season long without playing "extended minutes". i totally disagree with those who see no value in playing a d2 team. to the contrary, its very valuable as a tool to develop your backup players, particularly your true freshmen, transfers, and your 3rd & 4th string players.
i mean, just think about it? good thing raynard managed to stay heathy throughout the cb becasue kylil had the auto accident, so he couldn't play in the cb. that means fowler would've been the next man up as our qb and fowler didn't take any "meaningful" snaps all season long. how would you like to have relied on an inexperienced redshirt freshman to lead us to cb victory?
coach broadway "always" had a d2 on his schedule and astutely so. a lot of fbs schools have at least one fcs school on their schedule for the exact same reason coach broadway did it, to develop your 3rd and 4th deep players in a real game...

Presby is a D2 Program that masquerades as D1. We would be fine with a team like them in Aggie Stadium.

I would rather play a D2 HBCU over playing Presbyterian.
At least an HBCU might bring their band and attract a few more locals.

Fits the regional scheduling profile. CSU has three HBCUs on its schedule.

For those contemplating attending the away game vs. Charleston Southern, their stadium capacity is 4,000. Four thousand...
