May be our best course to possible at large playoff berth as a 9-2 (7-1, MEAC) non CB berth looks a lot better than 8-3 (7-1, MEAC) non CB berth. Losses to Duke and 1 MEAC opponent, vs Duke loss, FCS loss, and 1 MEAC opponent.
Which would also keep us higher in the poll rankings since we wont drop with D2 win but FCS loss would drop us in rankings.
My preferred path is to just trust coaching staffs recruiting and game prep and we only lose to Duke, run MEAC table and return to "A&T"lanta and the Aggie Invitational.

The Elon game will likely determine if we qualify for an at-large bid.
Two losses and a win against a top 15 ranked Elon team should be enough to get us in.

Man, hellllllllllllll no. We have sailed way past those days as a football program. The only way we're going to guarantee 6 home games is to do a D2 opponent this year. No FCS squad will do a home-and-home with us with the first game being in Greensboro. Cats ain't reaching out to us for games at this stage. Yep, I know...and that's kinda my point.
If we are having problems getting FCS teams doing a home-and-home with us with Game #1 being in Greensboro, plus we are reloading after losing 16 starters and we have early games against a FCS playoff team and a Power 5 opponent, this just might be a good season to line up one D-II for a game in BB&T-Aggie Stadium.

The only D2 I can stomach us playing is WSSU. At least that will result in a full stadium. If we can't find an opponent for a home date, we should look for another money game against an FBS. There is zero upside to playing the Barber-Scotia's of the world. I definitely agree that playing WSSU in our stadium would be a much better option...but do they have a date that would work for us and will they finally agree to come to Greensboro?

That Circle City Classic seems to be an attractive option against Tennessee State. 👀

I think the other thing you have to factor in is season ticket holders.
We've been paying $198 for the last several years for 5 games. A lot of folks would like a 6th home game in 2019. Most are AAF donors already who would like to see a 6th home game for their labors of love.
It's something that the AD has to take into consideration.

I am sure AAF donors wouldn't want to sacrifice the team's overall strength of schedule and a chance for a postseason berth just so they can watch us beat up on Barber-Scotia for 3 hours.
This has got to be a WSSU or bust proposition if we are talking about D2.

FCS: Top 10 Way-Too-Early Favorites To Win The 2019 FCS National Title 8. Elon The Phoenix have a new-look coaching staff after former head coach Curt Cignetti brought a number of assistants with him to James Madison. But strong pieces remain for defensive coordinator turned HC Tony Trisciani. Quarterback Davis Cheek was the 2017 CAA Rookie of the Year and missed half of last year with an injury. Elon's standout running back Malcolm Summers missed a large chunk as well as a senior, but the Phoenix get Jaylan Thomas back, who was the conference's Offensive Rookie of the Year. The top two receiving targets in Cole Taylor and Kortez Weeks also return while Elon will need to replace two First Team All-CAA offensive linemen. Defensive, the Phoenix will miss standout linebacker Warren Messer, but the next four leading tacklers are back. The Circle City Class was actually held last year on the Sept. 22. www.circlecityclassic.com/If they keep the same schedule this year it will occur on Sept. 21. Just something to keep in mind.

The Circle City Classic does not provide us a great deal of recruiting exposure, particularly in South however I like the Circle City Classic. They do a great job in putting on this classic so I think being invited to participate in it would be a plus for A&T.

Central actually played Duke pretty tough in the first half last year.
I think we are gonna match up very well with those guys .
