Thank you for the welcome. I am passionate about this because I dont see it helping. I dont want us to be "i got mine, who cares about you". In my heart of hearts I could care less if people sit and dont pay. Its bigger than that. Some things dont have a price tag. I could see if you make a policy that no other school makes and its successful. If our attendance and revenue increased people would say we should do what A&T does. But no one says that because its a dismal failure. Look at homecomimg in an effort to keep 50 people from "free loading" Thousanda wait an hour or more as we try to get 30k in a stadium in a single file line. Amateur! And for no reason at all. Its a logistical nightmare. But most importantly i grew up on Aggie Football and it saddens me that my nephews and neices and other kids wont have the same thing because everyone cant afford 35 tickets for 3 kids. It saddens me that other high schoolers we might be missing out on because of a policy that has no purpose. We are an hbcu, i wonder how many kids who never set foot on a college campus. You would be surpised at the number of folks who decides to go to College just because of that experience. We gave all those intangibles up..and for what. No benefit. Every school has this issue. We are the only school that decided to make a policy for a fraction of free loaders at the expense of thousands of supporters and push away thousands of potential supporters. I dont expect everyone to see my view but i do expect people who graduated with a degree in marketing and makes 6 figures to get it. Marketing 101 will tell you that policy stifles growth. Hence the lack of growth.

Isn’t there tailgating available that isn’t in the fence line?

Remember the Aggie-Eagle Classic at NCSU? Every person entering the venue had to have a game day ticket. The stadium where the Whitney Young Classic was/is played, did the very same thing. Their policy, if you don't have a ticket you don't get in. They got fed up with folks hanging out in the parking area without buying a ticket to the game. Some SEC schools and other major football programs do not even allow people to hang out in the tailgate area once the game begins. They want every person there in a seat, and you see the results on television. Usually a full stadium. The main event is the football game. They don't want people there just to hang out. If you want to come on A&T's stadium during a football game, buy a ticket.

Can someone share where the policy has increased attendance? Ive been to all meac schools and no one does it. We are not a club. The branding and marketing for a night club is worlds difference for a Division I program. Its about growth. Thats the bottom line. I remember when the stadium was lit every game. Its not that way..and for what. The away side is still empty as hell. I definitely know of 1 other MEAC school that does it and that is S.C. State. For the same reason we do it, to capture that much needed revenue. We have to be creative in capturing new revenue streams and if this is one way, so be it.

I would like to extend a hearty welcome also to you aggieswag , but I can't sit back and listen to you repeatedly spout false statements . In every one of your post you say "we are the only school in the nation who has this policy", false . You say " I have been to every school in our conference ,and we are the only one who has this policy" ,false . At Savannah State ,and South Carolina State ,you have to purchase a game ticket just to set foot on campus ,let alone a spot near the stadium ,and there are a couple more that that have a game zone policy .If you want people to take you seriously you must not engage in the practice of making emotional, but false , misleading statements . The only issue I have with our game day experience is when they changed the entry points into the stadium for pedestrians ,it does create a log jam , I will agree with you on that . The difference between fans and supporters is supporters contribute financially to an organization , fans don't . We have become the #1 HBCU in the nation in enrollment ,and infrastructure because we have plan ,a vision ,this didn't happen on a whim ,by doing things "the way we used to do in the past ".

Security, porta johns, etc! Can't come and use school resources and not give anything back. As previously mentioned I've seen tailgaters selling plates and para without giving a dime back to A&T. It would be poor business practice on our part to allow that to continue. Perhaps we will figure out a happy medium?

FAMU just got their fencing in-place and hope to implement a GameZone concept next season.
Bill Hayes tried to do this when he was AD, but was met with some resistance and did not have the funding for the fencing needed. During the 2016 GHOE, FAMU's president and then-AD saw our GameZone and saw how much of an advantage it is to the overall game experience and bottom-line.

Nothing is stopping anyone in Greensboro from replicating what ECU had yesterday.
If yall want to set up a tailgate area on Bessemer Avenue six blocks away from the stadium, knock yourself out.
But if you want to get inside the gates you have to buy a ticket. That is all A&T is saying.
If was exactly the same concept at ECU yesterday. You couldn't even get 2 blocks near the actual stadium complex without a full season parking pass and a game ticket.

Business models change over time. Even if it breaks even, Game Zone works. Tired of students bearing the largest majority of athletic costs. There's no games or "experience" without them.

I was at the SC State game. No one took my ticket until i walked in the stadium. Hell i bought the ticket in front of the stadium and handed the man my phone. That is 100% fact. Anybody says anything different did not go to the SC State game period. No one does it. Even if other meac schools did it which they dont i would think we would apire to better. But again not a single sane university that undestands long term branding and marketing would ever implement such a thing. Sorry the evidence is sitting in your face..no extra revenue + no extra attendance= failure. Glad we won today!
