Let's just admit that we are starting over.

Are non-Ivy League grads applying for those positions?
How attractive is that company to non-Ivy League grads who may have other options?

The company has non-Ivy leaguers as VPs so it is attractive.
Did Broadway and Maynor apply for the A&T job?

Now while I do believe we have a certain criteria, I don’t believe most top white coaching candidates would consider or choose a HBCU over a PWI if there was an offer from each.

It’s on us to find that diamond in the rough.

We need to improve our overall athletic infrastructure instead of trying to find the next savior of A&T athletics.
We shouldn't require our coaching hires to have to work miracles and do more with less.

Exactly, we have ready made excuses…. I doubt GW, Morgan and FAMU have more resources than us…

Those coaches at GW, Morgan and FAMU haven't accomplished as much as our current coaches have.
I thought we are trying to get to the next level; not stand pat. You can maintain the current infrastructure, and you can just hire coaches similar to one's at GW, Morgan and FAMU.
But will we be satisfied with the results?

I'm sorry, winning the MEAC doesn't impress me... Winning the Celebration Bowl doesnt impress me either... Our current coaching staff got outcoached by a 32 year old with less resources than what Washington has. Give GW coach our players and resources and I bet the results will be different in a positive way. Give FAMU coach our resources and we would be getting ready for a playoff game. So you are blaming infrastructure for our lack of success this year?

That 32 year old finished 4-7 the season and was down 20-7 to a bad A&T team in the fourth quarter.
Are you saying that you want him to be the next head coach at A&T?
Why? Because he is non-black? What else in his resume says he would be an improvement over Sam Washington?
And remember: this thread is about the future growth of the A&T football program.
We are trying to see how we can build off a 5-year period of excellence in which we won 4 HBCU national titles, defeated 3 FBS programs and was ranked several times in the top 5 in the FCS polls.

Go listen to what's happening in the basketball game today. It's shameful. Same problems as football. That's infrastructure. Infrastructure would allow your head coaches to be experienced rather than be first time head coaches at the Division I level. We're expecting a lot from novice head coaches right now and we are at a point in our journey where we don't have the luxury to wait five years for them to figure it out. Or maybe that's OK to the decision makers.
