Anything on McKnight's injury?? And I haven't heard much about Cartwright tonight on this board...how did he do?
We'll hear something Monday during the presser. Cartwright Stats: 19 Carries, 58 Yards (3.1 Average), 1 TD Adequate but not what I'd call a standout performance. Just didn't have that burst that we'd become accustomed to. I thought #20 Jamari Smith showed promise. I'd like to see him get more touches.

Norfolk lost to V State. Not a win against UVA.

A&T looked great but wow! Norfolk State almost beats UVA (score 14 to 10). And one of the worst mead programs beats D1 UNLV. Shout out to the MEAC today! Lol, Norfolk State lost to CIAA member VA State 14-10. Embarrassment for the conference.

Cartwright showed ball security and toughness. He ran on obvious Broadway ball control downs.

Stat of the night: Lamar Raynard - 19/22 (86.4 Completion Percentage), 321 Yards, 3 TD's, 0 INT's, Passer Rating: 253.9 He also completed a pass to a Tom Brady-Like 7 different receivers. This is a Payton Award Finalist stat line. As great as Raynard was it's a shame he's probably going to lose offensive POW honors to Cam's little brother.

Talking about dual threat...and a true freshman at that!

Play-Action off of Cartwright will be a factor. We also didn't run much Power-I. That may change with Carter returning. Also, our FB #46 tweaked something late in the game. That's something to watch.

Talking about dual threat...and a true freshman at that! I wouldn't be mad at that if that happens. Caylin and Coach Mike London put the conference, FCS and Kent State on notice. It also overshadows Norfolk State's foolishness. Most likely, Co-Honors will be given. You can't overlook an 85 percent completion percentage, while throwing over 300 yards.

From reading what has been said regarding the game..... (All the positives ) A: First game of the year. I think we had a great start for the 2017 season. B: Looks like Raynard has put in a lot of work since last year. C (Lastly), From what I have heard the defense was deadly and in "attack" mode. I agree that this was a great start. Raynard picked up where he left off from the spring. It's good to finally have a talented, experienced upperclassman QB who has the respect of his teammates as a team leader. The defense... Starting with the DL and carrying through to the secondary, they really showed well. I was very impressed with the secondary, particularly the CB play outside by Timadre Abram & Mac McCain. They were consistently in solid coverage downfield making Tyrell Maxwell pull the ball down on play-action where our DEs and LBs were able to contain him. We showed good depth in the 4-man DT rotation, but the Julian McKnight injury is a major concern. He was dominanting up to that point last night. Hopefully we find out the status on Tuesday.

That's the best performance from an A&T quarterback that I have ever witnessed. I am damn near forty, and I have been following A&T football for most of that time.

Especially his accuracy, poise and ability to find so many different receivers. BTW, the receivers were very impressive also!
