HERE IS SOME "INTERESTING" NEWS FOR US...From the Kent (OH) Record-Courier: www.recordpub.com/sports/2016/09/10/kent-state-quarterback-justin-agner-out-of-tonights-game-due-to-injury Kent State quarterback Justin Agner out of tonight's game due to injuryBy Allen Moff | Staff Writer Published: September 10, 2016 8:10 AM Kent State freshman quarterback Justin Agner suffered an injury during practice Friday night and will not play in tonight's 2016 home opener against North Carolina A&T.
Agner, who has been competing with redshirt freshman Mylik Mitchell and sophomore George Bollas (Aurora) for the starting signal-caller position since spring practices, started the Golden Flashes' season opener at Penn State last week. Kent State head coach Paul Haynes decided to start Mitchell in tonight's game earlier this week, but Agner was expected to play before suffering the injury.
Haynes said Agner "pulled up" during last night's practice.
"MItchell and Bollas (will play) today," said Haynes, via text message this morning. "We will have more information (on Agner) after he sees the doctors this week."
Kickoff for tonight's game is set for 6 p.m.

Bollas was the starter last year. I don't know how much they lose by losing Agner.

From the Akron Beacon-Journal: www.ohio.com/sports/kent-state/kent-state-football-golden-flashes-face-fcs-stalwart-north-carolina-a-t-state-in-home-opener-1.710634Kent State football: Golden Flashes face FCS stalwart North Carolina A&T State in home openerBy Jimmy Miller Special to the Beacon Journal Published: September 9, 2016 - 08:21 PM KENT: Although the Kent State football team has won 13 consecutive games against Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) teams, coach Paul Haynes warned that stretching that streak to 14 isn’t a given.
Haynes said North Carolina A&T State, the Golden Flashes’ opponent in their home opener at 6 p.m. Saturday, is no joke.
The Flashes (0-1) are coming off a 33-13 loss at Penn State — a Big Ten team that plays in a stadium that holds over 107,000 fans. The Aggies, of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference, play in a stadium that seats 21,000.
Not only have the Flashes had success against FCS teams, they’re also 3-0 — all against Delaware State — when playing the MEAC. That includes a 45-13 blowout of the Hornets in the Flashes’ home opener last season.
Still, the Aggies went 10-2 last season and are coming off a 62-0 victory over St. Augustine’s in their season opener. The Aggies also won the inaugural Celebration Bowl last season, 41-34 over Alcorn State, to earn the team’s third Historically Black Colleges and Universities championship.
Tarik Cohen (5-6, 179), the senior tailback who tallied 15 touchdowns and more than 1,500 yards in 2015, scored twice last week against St. Augustine’s on just eight carries. He and senior wide receiver Denzel Keyes were the two players Haynes singled out this week when he previewed the game. Keyes had eight touchdowns last season and already has two this year.
“They’ve got another dynamic running back and he’s totally different from the guy we saw [against Penn State],” Haynes said. “It’s going to be challenging for us defensively to make sure we control our leverage.”
Sophomore quarterback Lamar Raynard (6-4, 176), who led the Aggies last season with seven touchdown passes, threw two last week. Raynard was one of four Aggies’ passers to toss a touchdown in 2015.
The Aggies — third in the MEAC in total defense last year — forced four turnovers and held St. Augustine’s to under 100 yards passing and rushing.
“Defensively, not a lot of exotic stuff but they’re sound,” Haynes said. “They’re big up front and they’re very athletic in the secondary and at linebacker.”
The Flashes will test that defense with its young offense, which was paced by freshman tailback Justin Rankin’s 82 rushing yards against Penn State. Kent State is still looking for its first offensive touchdown, as sophomore kicker Shane Hynes and the defense scored against the Nittany Lions.
There remains uncertainty for the Flashes at quarterback, where true freshman Justin Agner started last week but shared playing time with Mylik Mitchell and, on occasion, sophomore George Bollas.
Haynes said the Flashes will continue to play two or three quarterbacks each game until their conference opener against Akron on Oct. 1.

It is raining cats and dogs in Columbus. Ohio St is up on Tulsa 20-3 at halftime... but they've been under rain delay for about 30 minutes.

I just checked the weather channel website.......thunderstorms until at least 10:15. Looking at the satellite images, this storm is moving pretty fast from west to east. They may be able to start the game in 30-45 minutes.....if anyone is in Kent, keep us updated.....
This wasn't the golden flashes I was hoping to see today....

Won't this game have to be played at some point? Doesn't it affect Kent State bowl aspirations

Seems like it's passing. Ohio State looks like they are about to start back.
