I told yall in the summer that Cohen was the best running back on the roster. Drake is solid but he is just not a game changer. Cohen has some wiggle in between the tackles and an extra gear to take it to the outside. That's why Cohen wears number 28. If he changes to number "22", he will really be something for opponents to fear. Hopefully, he continues to get better. A&T lucked out and won that game last night with big help from Howard. Howard has a good team. Just inept at the wroong time. A&T's team can't continue to have second half performances like last night and hope to steal a championship. With a lead, ball control and scoring is the name of the game (not reverting back to an old habit of three and out).

We got to work on our 2nd half adjustments. Lost that battle by a wide margin yesterday We did not have any Push from the D-line inside , that is why .HU tried to run on us with that big Back they had . Also the .NG and DT have to play better by closing down the pocket. The DE's are playing lights out along with the LB's. The NFZ has to focus more, If your in a cover 2 shell their is know why anyone should get behind you even if he comes all the way across the field as HU's TE did that was because their was NO Push from the inside of the D-LINE and the safties not playing focused. If we don't start getting better play from the inside of that D-LINE ON PASS PLAYS , We may have to change the NFZ's name

1. Any win is a good win.... we play to win the game. 2. Greg McGhee will probably be the best QB we face this season. I was very impressed by him. His timing on throws and his ability to get through his progressions quickly put Kindle to shame. We are fortunate that his WRs let him down. 3. Cohen is definitely more of a play-maker than Drake, but he only weighs 170 lbs, so I don't see him as an every-down back this year. 4. OL and DL depth is still an issue. Not giving breathers with those groups (particularly DL) is bound to cause 2nd half fatigue.

durhamgsoaggie, you are right on about the game. I think the Howard game said more about their QB than it did about our defense. McGee was special and had great presence in the pocket...he moved around in the pocket when he felt pressure and he got the ball out of his hands quickly to the receiver. Our defensive line was doing a good job stopping the run and containing the QB. And that was a big job. As for as the "No Fly Zone," this is college ball and it's hard for a DB to totally shutdown a receiver when the QB is zipping the ball around like McGee. I doubt we will face another QB on our schedule with all the skills McGee had. But if we make the playoff (and that's a big if) I'm sure we will see more.
Kindle is the best QB we have at this time. He has the best passing skills on our team at this time. He gives us the best chance to win at this time. That said, he's not very mobile. And the more he has to move in the pocket the more his passes are off. Quick is our best mobile QB but so far he hasn't shown that he can pass well enough to take Kindle's job. If we could combine Kindle's passing with Quick's speed and ability to move around in the pocket, we would be really good. But that's not happening this year. So we will just take our 3 and 0 record and move on and hope we don't meet another special QB.

We DID win a game on ESPNU for a change. The crowd did not stay as that was a Long game! But it was still in the balance. ======= Now if we could get A&T/NCCU Basketball televised.... Amen to that! The ESPNU football jinx is broken!

So we will just take our 3 and 0 record and move on and hope we don't meet another special QB. Kindle has all of the physical tools to be an excellent QB. But it was actually good to see him in the same game with McGhee because to me, it highlighted some of Kindle's areas of improvement. Kindle has a pretty good grasp of the passing playbook, but I can't say that he knows it like the back of his hand. McGhee has had the fortune of being in the same offense for the last two years, so he knows it like the back of his hand. The difference between a good and great grasp of the offense is knowing exactly where receivers break in their routes, knowing what defense is being played and putting the ball where the receiver SHOULD be, not where the receiver IS once they come open... and making a decision and executing in about 3 seconds. This is so critical for a QB to help his team perform at a high level. To me, Kindle is holding onto the ball too long on pass plays waiting for someone to come wide open, when most routes are designed to have someone come open within 2-3 seconds... but the receiver usually is open for about a second before the defender recovers. McGhee was very good at not waiting, but trusting the route and hitting the spot vs the receiver. Kindle needs to work on that. To be fair, though, some of Kindle's younger receivers screwed a few routes up...one was a potential TD.... so some of the performance is not on Kindle. But he does have to be the leader on the field that "helps them along" in their maturation as well. McGhee also had a very good "mental clock" in his head when it came time to step up in the pocket or bail out on the pocket and scramble. Kindle is most likely just as fast as Quick in a footrace, but his "mental clock" goes off about a half-second late in the pocket, and he gets caught in pressure... and takes too many hits/sacks because of it. That's the pocket presensce that marchingband is talking about. All those factors combined is why I said that McGhee's performance put Kindle to shame, even though McGhee's numbers didn't show that because of his receivers. But this is just one game... one game that we won. If Lewis Kindle was reading this, I'd tell him that he's a smart kid who is a pretty good QB for us. It is the toughest position to play because of the mental aspect, so we applaud him for what he's done so far. But in order for us to be great, his "processing speed" and situational awareness have to be a little faster to allow the offense to flow at its optimum. Part of that is excelling at the playbook and part of that is execution of said playbook and trusting your playmakers. Mr. Kindle, you still have time to be great. So, Carpe Diem.... and Aggie Pride!

He could always step up in the pocket because their was no pressure coming from the inside. It was his O-line on passing plays that made Mr Mcgee look so good. Now the times that he had to move out of that pocket he did Nada. He just executed HU's game plain as Kindle did for us. As for this talk for Quick for get it...lol Kindle is still the best options we have. Also kindle has to learn to take what the defence gives him and use his ( Best Friend ) the TE .

Complainers be careful. Grambling did not appreciate Broadway's style of coaching or winning. He is about fundamentals not flash and while we didnt execute every X&O to perfection, we won the game. I do believe that the 2nd half was a different more laid back style of playing but intentional or not Funky B is going to win his way. I dont think he was thrilled with the product and he will make adjustments. Take this win for what it is and let coach to his thang. We are making history yard by yard. AMEN!!!!! (And remember Jeff Capel, Sr.?? Same type of nit-picking complaining, from what I recall.)

Dooms you are exactly right. Those passes was catch able and if they had just caught a couple of those the outcome could had been different.
The only thing that I have to agree with is when Broadway said today "a couple years if we had made these same mistakes in the second half we would not had won." I remember broadway said either one or two year ago after a loss "We are just not that good enough to have turn overs and miss assignments, drop passes and expect to win a game. We just not that good." But like he said today we can make those mistakes and still win.
He make a good point Dooms
But if we expect to be undefeated we have to figure out how to put teams away.
I still think we will lose. I just dont think we will stop CUE(qb) and there running game. There offensive lineman outweight out guys. They are huge.
Thrilla here is my perdition already sorry guys!! I got to stay honest!!!!

I say not so fast...the only way they definitively beat us is if Cue is as good as McGhee. I don't see it. I think we can stop the run...so, unless our offense is horrible which is possible our defense should be fine. However, the defense cannot stay on the field all day. So, for us, this game boils down to our offense and special teams. If we can get a score out of special teams and our offense can score here or there, I think we will win this game. I don't expect us to score every time we touch the ball but, the drives we don't score at least pick up a few first downs. Now, what I'm speaking could be a very tall order but, I think it can be done.
