Of course, I too will take a win anyway. *I will continue to say, we've got to find a way to stop the underneath pass. *The D-line is not use to a QB that will rein the ball. *A few times we allowed the ball carrier to run by us. We fell for the fake a lot. *We had some injuries on defense also during the first half. *The game after a bye is always dangerous.
I think we will be back on track next week. SC is hurting in the RB area so they may throw more.

trues, When Buddy Pough is SCSU's coach, we will always have a good chance to win. I don't think you realize how good of a Howard QB McGee is. Neither App St nor Elon had a QB as good as McGee. We may not even face a QB as good as McGee the rest of the regular season, which bodes well for us.
BT, If you said Cohen was the best RB earlier this year, then kudos for you for calling it. No offense to the other RBs, but Cohen looks as if he can break a big run everytime he touches the ball.
I left Aggie Stadium somewhat dejected last night. However, in the grand scheme of things, we simply aren't going to face as quality a QB as McGee for the rest of the year. Every good team will have a win on the schedule that ain't pretty. THIS QUALIFIES AS ONE FOR US!!!!

It's time it think about STEAT. That will be a slugfest in the dome next Saturday. I think our o-line missed some very key assignments in pass blocking during the second half. We must sure that up to give Kindle time in the pocket. Secondly, we play better with Kindle under center and Cohen may need to start or get the majority of the carries.

I could care less about style points. Its all about ther W's and L's. Except in his CIAA run at NCCU, Broadway's teams traditonally are not trend setters. They play solid defense, win the kicking game and find a way to win by beating you down and win the decision like a evenly matched boxing match on points.
This team is still learning about itself and last night was an object leason that Broadway will use to hammer home to them that when you have a team on the ropes like we did Howard, you have to then completely put them away. I think last night after jumping out to 27-10 lead our kids immediately started looking toward SCSU at halftime but I expect that of a team that is 90 percent freshman and sophomores.
It is what it is. Win and advance to the next game.

IT IS STILL EARLY AND THE AGGIES WILL GET BETTER. THEY NEED TO LEARN HOW TO CLOSE THE DEAL. LEAVING THE DOOR OPEN MY COST THEM IN THE FUTURE. THEY HAD HOWARD ON THE ROPES IN THE FIRST HALF BUT FAIL TO DELIVER THE KNOCK-OUT PUNCH, BECAUSE OF VERY CORRECTABLE MISTAKES. THE LITTLE RUNNING BACK COHEN AND THE BIG CORNER NUMBER 22 ARE SPECIAL.

The Offense will get better week by week, at this point we just need to play. I do have some concern with how Ricky Lewis is playing. He has no bounce with his step and it seems he has lost some of his Swag. Also what happen with Cody is he hurt or in the dog house. The young man has a NFL leg. The Kick-Offs were short and it cost us three points before have time. In order to Win the MEAC you have to have a Strong Kicking Game. The MVP of the App Game was Cody and the returned Game.

So far we appear to have a team who plays to the level of the competition. The offense just seemed totally out of sync and confused in the second half. Gotta start getting the plays called sooner.
How about that last hit by Olatoye?!!!

We should have lost that game. Howard beat themselves much worse than we beat them. How many WIDE OPEN passes did they drop? I stopped counting at five. They left at least three tds on the field between that and penalties.
But like everyone has said, that was good for us to keep any egos in check.

Star,
Just think if Howard has a Willie Carter or Wallace Miles type of WR.
Oleschool,
If we had gone ahead and blown this team out it would have look good for a Top 25 ranking.
Props to Aggie Fans
I was disappointed in our O-Line just not dominating in the second half

I think last night after jumping out to 27-10 lead our kids immediately started looking toward SCSU at halftime but I expect that of a team that is 90 percent freshman and sophomores. Aggie One, I have to disagree. Howard clearly made 2nd half adjustments. To say the 2nd half performance was just A&T looking ahead to SCSU is not entirely accurate. Their defense got to Kindle much more often. They started working the middle of the field more. They also went to the short passing game more to supplant the lack of a running attack. Those dudes made very solid corrections/adjustments after halftime. Sometimes, the trailing team at halftime comes out making the necessary corrections to get back in the game. It was imperative for our coaching staff to start the 4th quarter making the necessary corrections to the adjustments Howard had made in the 3rd qtr - WE DIDN'T. I'm cool with an Aggie gameplan not being flashy - but I do expect the coaching staff to adjust to what teams are doing to us. The staff failed to do this last night in the 2nd half. Last night was a learning experience for everyone associated with Aggie football. You can learn as much from an ugly win than a pretty loss.......

Well I came away from last night's game glad we got a win and glad McGee didn't have better receivers. What I've seen in 2 of the 3 games we've played (Howard & App State) that if the opposing team has a good passing QB they can find the open man on our defense. McGee's receivers couldn't catch squat and App State didn't put in their good passing QB until 4th quarter. Our defensive line is geared to "stop the run" so it's not designed to rush the passer. That's only a problem if the other team has a decent QB...Howard's QB was great. By the way, I hope this is McGee's last year because if he comes back and gets some decent receivers he could be real trouble for us in the future.
But back to last night...hey folks don't forget that we are just a few seasons away from when we were awful. It will take us some time to get to the level where we just blow people away. We all want to win "pretty" but most of all, we all want to win. Let's not worry about wins when we have so many games left. What's behind us shouldn't concern us...it's what's ahead that we need to focus on.

If you look back at the 10 national championship teams they all played games like last night the common factor is that they won some times you have to take a step backwards to advance forward we could have easily beat Howard by 4 or 5 touchdowns and everyone would be happy with the team but more importantly the team would be content with their play now we all see we have a lot of work to do but the difference with this year's team and last year is the W so I am changing the topic from Ugly to Good Bad and the Ugly. There was a lot of good things that happened on the field and some not so good I said several weeks ago that this team could be special and I still truly believe it today we have a great coaching staff that will make the correction and keep this team moving forward and take this to the bank SCSU Coaching staff will be looking at the good this week and not the bad or the ugly

Complainers be careful. Grambling did not appreciate Broadway's style of coaching or winning.
He is about fundamentals not flash and while we didnt execute every X&O to perfection, we won the game. I do believe that the 2nd half was a different more laid back style of playing but intentional or not Funky B is going to win his way. I dont think he was thrilled with the product and he will make adjustments.
Take this win for what it is and let coach to his thang. We are making history yard by yard.
