The defense deserve some credit You need these type of wins to win a MEAC championship. I could see Howard whipping NCCU and giving Bethune all they want up in DC

I couldn't agree more..... with the "Ugly" statement. We will have to make some major adjustments to beat SCSU!

AMEN!! The offense looked really disinterested during the entire 2nd half. They had better get it revved up for a pretty good Bulldogs defense, I'll say that! But, like you said, "a win is a win!"

I wouldn't be surprised if Howard is the best team we face this entire season.
They have a bigtime quarterback but he just doesn't have any weapons.

This showed a lot of grit from this team. If this is the worst of our looks this year then I'll take it. Howard had 10-100yds in penalties, we had 5-40. This really helped. Howard could not get out of its own way.

We DID win a game on ESPNU for a change. The crowd did not stay as that was a Long game! But it was still in the balance. ======= Now if we could get A&T/NCCU Basketball televised....

A nugget that worries me is that through three games this season, we have trailed for only :12 of the 90:00. I don't know how we will respond if we are down by a score or two. Does our offense have the ability to produce in a must score situation, another week will tell.

What the heck happened in the second half to our offense? Did the coach decide to play conservative so SC State wouldn't see all our plays? And did Kindle not execute or was it the play calling? Two different teams tonight...first half I thought we could score every time we had the ball and in the second half, I questioned if we could make a first down. And what happened to our kicking game? What happens every year to our kicking game...we start the season great and then we fall apart. Blocked punts, missed close field goals, and short kickoffs. The "no fly zone" got its workout tonight and man did they save our butts...plus Howard's receivers couldn't catch a cold.
Oh, and I like to A&T band on the visitor's side. Love that sound.

[/quote Broadway and Bustle may have played it close to the vest last night, but one thing we did show SC State was Kindle's inability to secure the ball in traffic....and what's the deal with Kindle wearing that sleeve on his forearm? Seemed to me that it was preventing him from getting a good grip on the ball in traffic!

I'll take it...Howard has a good team, their coaches failed them last night as well as the mistakes. Our offense doesn't have an identity yet, you have to be able to hang your hat on either the run game or the passing game...we haven't figured that part out. Case and point...3rd and 2, we don't know whether to pass or run and the offensive coaches didn't seem to have a rhythm in the 2nd half. AND momentum had a lot to do with it as well...we loss momentum and we had to hang on best we could. Nonetheless, I'm glad to get the win...remember, doesn't matter how you get the win. All wins aren't pretty!

1) We got outcoached in the 2nd half. Football is about adjustments. Howard adjusted; we didn't......that's on the coach and his staff. 2) Tony McGee is likely the best QB in the conference. If he had better receivers, we would have had 40 points hung on us last night. 3) The defensive coordinator needs to learn to put in some blitz packages. When our defensive line can't put pressure on an opposing QB (McGee had all day to throw for most of the game), we have to bring in an extra man from the secondary to pressure the QB 4) I don't believe the notion of "We held back as to not give SCSU a better look at us" talk. That was only the 3rd game of the season - we're still learning who we are as a team. 5) Kindle has to learn how to hold on to the ball. He's not killing us with INTs this year - he's just fumbling way too much. 6) Tank Cohen needs more touches - he actually may be the most explosive RB we have. 7) A little bit of humble pie is what this team and all of Aggie Nation needed. We are far from great. However, you need an ugly win like this to get everyone's focus back on football. Another 2nd half like last night and we're catching a "L."

I really have issue with A&T. Like broadway said we are really not that good and that is reality part. Personally I don't think we will beat SC state. This is the third dam game where the offense seem to struggle in the second half and the opponent seem to gain momentum. Think about it. If it was not us finally scoring that last TD on Elon the game turnout could had been totally different.
I was not happy with the play calling in the second half. We need to make plays throwing the ball down field. That way it put us in more positions to make 1st down. I was so tired of us going 3 and out.

I told yall in the summer that Cohen was the best running back on the roster.
Drake is solid but he is just not a game changer. Cohen has some wiggle in between the tackles and an extra gear to take it to the outside.
