Some of you older guys know that A&T's athletic department has been lame for decades. The coaches have been the ones making past administrations look like they were doing everything for the 'cause' of building winning programs.
A&T went from not raising and spending any money for athletics to Renick's tenure of being like the US Congress, spending money it didn't have for so-called botched hirings and then firings.
A&T's administrations and alumni are currently lagging in giving financially to athletics by at least a decade. In fact the athletic department, has been behind financially since A&T first helped in forming the MEAC.
The only difference between then and now is the internet and this website that gives us an opportunity to speak our minds.
The alumni has always expected a lot and given very little. Encouraging ADs to fire coaches without coming up with the money to not only payoff the current contracts but also failing to give money to fund new contracts. On top of that the alumni needs to give, to privately fund athletic scholarships so they will be endowed. If your response is "I give money for academics only" then don't complain too loudly about firing anyone who is still on contract and trying to do their best.
This doesn't mean you should let total incompetence or dereliction of duty go un-noticed or without scathing criticisms but one should know a little more about the situation before hand.

Well, I give money for academics only now. At some point there has to be a return on your investment. I was all ready to write my check for 100 bucks for victory yesterday. I couldn't wait. I've been waiting for over a year.
We are lagging because of the decisions we make. Overpaying for everybody and letting them make excuse after excuse. I literally don't think I could do worse if I tried. It is not hard to make sound decisions. I guess it is when you are getting paid to do it.
