SNIFF, SNIFF.... what is that I smell in here??? You can look for and expect whatever you want. Those comments were made 2 freaking years ago. Find me one person who hasnt grown and matured in their views of the leadership (or lack there of) of the department over the last 2 years. My position hasnt changed.. if you love the program youre going to give.. I aint backing off that.. therefore you aint bout to see a retraction of ANY type... SORRY.. bottom line is I DID think that she deserved a chance to prove herself in this role.. now that shes had that chance.. I have no faith in her to get us to where we need to be. I hate to say that she is using this as her last stop before retirement !!! hmmmmm thats what this gig is.. her last gig before retirement..!!! we will be in worse shape when she leaves than we were when she came..

I'm not sensitive, I'm tired of people asking dumb questions when if they have ever read this board they know where I stand.
I was the very first person to say "bad move" when we hired Todd. One Aggie Club meeting with her at the helm and I knew we were in trouble. I was the first person to say "bad move" when we hired Fobbs as well. I have never seen the need for McAlpin.
I don't understand what part of "if NCA&T hadn't hired these people in the first place we wouldn't be having this discussion" y'all don't get.
I don't think we should give a damn thang until we see some results. I said that over a year and half ago and got cussed out for it.
I ain't arguing with anybody who questions Todd. I'm saying WE HIRED HER. Don't y'all get it? This whole mess is our own doing from the rooter to the tooter. You can't hire somebody that common sense should tell you ain't gonna work out and then get mad at them when they don't. That is my whole point.
I refuse to bash those people anymore because we are at fault. We either need to help them be successful or pull the plug on the whole lot. And both options cost money. Money I ain't giving until I see them make some moves first. That's where I stand.
It's not about sensitivity, it's about sense.
As for you antfan, you are probably smelling the stench you raised from over a year and a half of posting crap. Where do you stand this year?

antfan, I don't see how you can practically say the money we give is being wasted and yet still think we should give. Explain.
My positions from two years ago have not changed. I really wished that the people at question in this thread would prove me wrong but man have they cemented my statements.
I think division II and division III are where you give a person a chance. We're (at least nominally) a division I program and as a division I program wit tight pockets I always felt and always will feel we should be hiring people who have proven themselves on those levels, not at a major with a bottomless pocketbook. Now I think almost everybody sees what I've been saying for ages.
As a result of not using common sense and allowing our illustrious former chancellor to reach for names as opposed to reaching for resumes we are now not just broke, we are broken.
That being stated, we can't fire them and they probably won't quit. So let's all take a deep breath and figure out what we can do.

That's how I feel too. Why give when the adminstration WILL mess the money up some way some how!!!!!!!!!!

Come on with the language dj, kids read this.
I think we'd be better off using this thread as a think tank. Like, what would you do if you were Dee or McAlpin? I'm sure none of us would suggest slanging m&m's. I think they've taken several suggestions that were made on this board and used them. We all have come up with a good idea on this board. Let's give them a few if you've got any.
I think we all should be pressuring the administration to kick some money into this thing so we have a proper infrastructure in place. The quickest way to see results is to stop giving money and tell them why. Things will change in weeks if you do that.
Once you have the infrastructure in place then you can talk about firing, hiring, reassigning, allowing additional time with new infrastructure.

I'm to the point were we need to clean house top to bottom....... but we don't have the money for that so who has to go..... I think the best thing we could do is find and OC and a Special teams coach so we can win a few games....

Ant2003, you are a clown. Either be man enough to admit when you are wrong or just fall back and be quiet. I don't even know who you are and I can guarantee that Dooms has donated way more to this athletic department than you have.

Harsh, Thrilla. I'm loving the dialogue, but what's with all the personal stuff, fellas? From what antfan has stated, it appears (to me) that he still feels fans should give, but that athletic admin needs to bring in major gifts as well. If I'm wrong, I'll accept that. DOOMS, I see that you've added to your original statements. Sometimes I feel like you're saying we deserve what we're getting because we shouldn't have hired Todd; and then other times I clearly hear you saying that we should just work on improving the current state of affairs. Some things posted on this board are left for interpretation. You think I'm speculating regarding the contents of Todd's job decription; I think you're speculating about so-called promises Rennick may have made to Todd. How would we know that she didn't promise Rennick she would do a stellar job? I'll see if I can get my hands on Todd's job description (probably unlikely). At the very least, I wonder if I could check out a general AD job description for discussion purposes. What we KNOW is that McAlpin is SUPPOSED to be bringing in $$ and filling the scoreboard panels. I'll be more than happy to inquire about this at the Chancellor's office. Does anyone else want to take on a small project regarding this? Let's work together.

Dooms,I have to agree with you on this one. I have connections to the ACC. From what I understand the Commissioner wanted her gone, but did not want to deal with the fallout from firing a double minority. The conference thought she was a JOKE. The reason they all came to her press conference announcing her new gig as our AD...to begin their celebration. She is a arrogant idiot who has made it where she is today on her (fading) beauty. WHy would I say these things? Because these are the comments various officials from the ACC told me DIRECTLY...even gave me examples. It is completely A&T's fault she is here and we are in this mess. If someone offered me a gig making 165K for which I am not qualified and I don't have to 1)go to work 2)produce,....hell yeah I would accept (maybe not...my pride would not allow me to put myself in a position to PUBLICLY fail. ) Renick (operating off of the suggestions of a few A&T staffers who are KICKING themselves now) recruited Dee. He went after her after she lost the NCCU job because she did not have a fundraising plan. Again, not rumor.... Now, faced with financial distress, she doesn't even attempt to come up with a plan to raise funds. Should McAlpin be fired? Seems it is Todd's responsibility to MANAGE her staff to ensure that they are operating effectively. Again....the only personnel she managed at the ACC was her administrative assistant and maybe one other person. Speaking of management....how can she manage the Athletic Dept IF SHE IS NEVER THERE???!!!!! Wouldn't be so bad that she is never there if she were actually out on the road making us some $$$$$. We dropped the ball with this hire. My question is, how long will we continue to pay her for not doing her job? If she knows that $$$$ isn't coming from the Board of Trustees, or by increasing student fees (again) she needs to (with McAlpin) identify other sources. I realize that fundraising at HBCUs isnt a cake walk...but hell, Hayes got to NCCU, and came up with the 1,000 Eagles Campaign...raised 1 MILL!!!! Hell, screw PRIDE...let's straight up COPY that...1,000 AGGIES....

Shonuff, I would holler at Dee if I wasn't in Charlotte. It's my understanding she arrived early to give a presentation at the DC Aggie Club meeting on Friday night, which I'm sure 90% of the people who read this board and live in the DC area didn't bother to attend. I'm waiting on somebody to post a synopsis. I'm interested in knowing what she said and how she was received. I was there. There were quite a few people in attendance. She presented to us, "Athletics 101". I don't think her presentation was that well taken by the majority because basically what we got from it was the very topic of this thread, "We are broke". In other words, Fobbs ain't going nowhere and we can't afford seasoned assistants, cause A&T chose to take the assistants off State payroll. We have to hire young, inexperienced dudes cause we can't afford to pay them because their salaries come out of our 6 million dollar budget. She wants to raise student fees by $35 which will only increase the budget by $200,000. She said the "higher ups" of the Victory Club are responsible for the panels on the new score board, but they aren't doing anything with that. Of our 63 available schorlarships in football, we have 53. In Men's basketball, we are allowed 13 and we have 12. In Women's, we are allowed 15 and we have 13. In baseball we are allowed 11 and we have 9. In volleyball we are allowed 12 and we have 9. If I get a chance, I will scan other facts from the handout and post it in the Private forum and it'll be up to Bornthrilla if he want's to move it here.

We're experiencing one of the greatest heist in athletics. Neither Todd nor Fobbs will take responsiblility or be accountable for the sad state of the football program. The bad thing about this is that these guys will leave eventually with a good stash and the Aggies will have to clean up the mess they left behind.
