Former Reynolds football star A.J. Marion has committed to play in college for North Carolina A&T. Rockets coach Shane Laws said that Marion is expected to redshirt his freshman year in Greensboro. The former All-Mountain Athletic Conference running back suffered a preseason knee injury in 2011 that hampered his final year of high school football. Marion finished his senior season with 350 yards and six touchdowns. Read more: blogs2.citizen-times.com/hshuddle/2012/08/09/marion-to-north-carolina-at/*Very nice pick up!

Indeed, I think he is the type of player that will fit in well with the team. I'm also taking notice of the "New" areas of the state we are starting to pull players from. Going more to the East and West...it's back to the future in a lot of ways.
The fact that we are getting comittments for next year before this season even starts says a lot about our future prospects.

man, this boy is the truth! omg! broadway ain't playing! he's building our program for the long haul. all we need now is a great apr score this year and if we get that, i don't anticipate any more problems with our apr because after next year, all of fobbs' apr scores will be removed from our overall apr.
but the key is this year's score. if we knock our apr out the park this year, aggie football will almost be clear of our last 7 years or so of our football nightmare...

I'm looking forward to no APR scrutiny....only question is Marion part of this year's class or 2013?

Technically, he will be in the class of 2013. He is at Hargrave Military in their Hargrave Post-Graduate Football Program to keep strenghthening his knee and get into back into playing shape. His grades are very good and he's a high character kid. Watch his personal bio video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QUJy-KObvSw&feature=relatedHe had a menicus tear (the Mo Hicks injury) at the beginning of the senior 2011 season but had successful surgery. Broadway stayed on the scene and we got him after everyone else dropped off on him. His surgery was a complete success and he was back within seven weeks running and made it back for the last three games that season. Still had over 300 yards rushing and seven scores in just four 2011 appearences. Just a smart recruiting assessement, player evaluation, and staying on top of things by this staff. 2010 - Junior Rushed for 1,815 yards and 24 touchdowns on 227 carries • Caught 23 receptions for 385 yards and six touchdowns 2009 - Sophomore Rushed for 737 yards and nine touchdowns on 89 carries • Caught eight passes for 104 yards and a touchdown More on the Hargrave Post-Graduate Program. hargravesports.com/sports/2011/3/28/PGFB_0328112236.aspx?path=pgfootball

I think Broadway & Hilton may be trying to get to 57 scholarships for this season since that will be critical for us playing FBS schools in the future. If we don't reach 57 this season then 2015 will be the soonest we can schedule an FBS opponent.

The kids a good back but a straight up runner!! Has to learn to get low and make himself small going through the line & run behind his pads for the college level.

True: That's what I hate about the spread. It's hard to teach a back that has been in the spread how to make himself small and run behind his pads. The kid has good vision and lines his blockers up to make the most of his runs . A cut and go type but the thing I like the most about him is that he trusts his speed, He makes his cut and go's no looking back just ahead you have to run him down if you can. I love backs like that...lol
