Where does this myth come from that A&T brings more fans to Winston than vice versa.... this picture clearly demonstrates the overwelming majority of the stadidum is RED! Bowman Gray also can hold way more than 17,000 there were well over 22,000 people at Homecoming this year(The largest HBCU game in the state btw)

Oh well...it's not the end of the world as we know it. This sounds like a power play on all levels at both athletic programs expense.

I disagree with you GetUpRams....NSU, SCSU & BCU would give WSSU a hard way to go....football and band!

Like I have said previously they (not me or you) are scarrrrrred to play WSSU in that spot and they would rather play sumbody they KNOW ( a patsy) they can beat. Before anybody reacts.......... think rationally because I'm telling you it is more than just differences in the financial agreement. Simply put, Hilton and Broadway do not want to play them because they do not want to take the "possible" loss. I know there will be family members that will disagree with me but if you do, ask them!!!!! Maybe in 2013?

I disagree with you GetUpRams....NSU, SCSU & BCU would give WSSU a hard way to go....football and band! I disagree, I did watch the NSU vs BCU game ..It was pretty bad don't think either one of those teams would be able to score enough points to beat WSSU. WSSU had a great Offense and even better Defense. WSSU has a better coach than those 3 programs as well. Oh and btw WSSU did what NSU, BCU ,SCSU have failed to do "WIN" in the playoffs diff senarios but the teams WSSU beat both had winning records and plenty of FBS\FCS transfers. As for the band, well WSSU has a great band. The RSOS is small in number but they put out a huge sound. The RSOS is not afraid to take on ANY band remember they went toe to toe with JSU at Honda last year in the warmup area. Look for a great show from WSSU next weekend in Atlanta :-) Bowman Gray can seat atleast 20,000 with additional standing room around the concourse area. You telling me only 17,500 ppl attended the 2009 WSSU/A&T game? Yes 22,000 was a fantastic number for WSSU homecoming it was more than that that's just the "fire code" number. WSSU had a fantastic Fall 2011 Oh and this video got me HYPE for football season again....

It want to start counting standing room anyone can fudge numbers. Lets count the bathrooms stalls while we at it, LOL. All I'm saying is unless you add extra bleachers the official count at Bowman can NEVER be no more than 17,500. Sure you can turn the turn stiles more than that but it will be in the record book as 17,500. Same with Aggie Stadium, the official attendance can never be more than seating. thats why we only break records when we add bleachers.

That's a nice clip of WSSU....but we can agree to disagree. I don't want to deminish any of the accomplishments that were achieved of the football field in 2011. So, I'll leave it at that. But, I can remember around 2005-2007, NCCU fans/folk saying the same thing...we were scared to play them. And, there was no doubt their 06 team would've walk the dog on us and it was Fobbs' first year. But remember, the "fan" doesn't see the financials and believe it or not...that's what decisions are based on. So, are the going to be WSSU fans/folk saying A&T is scared of them?? SURE! In the end...$$$ talks, bull@#$% walks!

I could care less if we ever played WSSU again. Why are we wasting time even discussing this? We play whoever is on the schedule. If we happen to schedule them, then so be it, but until then let the AD do his job.

Oh and oleschoolaggie stop the madness WSSU is atleast 21 points better than you LLs.... Im sorry but I can't see BCU, NSU, SCSU beating WSSU. well, bring your azzes to aggie stadium and we'll be more than happy to settle this. you're out of your friggin' mind if you think the wssu lambs can beat the likes of bcu, scsu, or nsu, or even a&t. don't let that little d2 stuff go to your head! ya'll " just barely" beat us 2 years ago and we should've won that game. so bring your little red azzes to aggie stadium so we can kick ya'll to sleep! and by the way, why do you have to keep sticking your nose in aggies' business? why do you keep imposing yourself in our business? don't the rams have a message board of their own? and one last thing, tell our "aggie alum" connell maynor we fellow aggies said "what's up!" it takes an aggie to lead you folks to some success...

I've not commented on whether the A&T/WSSU football rivalry should continue. Honestly, I miss it terribly. There is no doubt about it. However, I can't seem to make up my mind on whether or not we Aggies should continue to burn energy around this game.
Let me get this off of my chest. We (Aggies) can't expect different results doing the same things. As someone else posted a few weeks ago, ALL of Aggie Stadium should be considered 'home' seats. We should not rely on another school to sell tickets. Our product is (or should be) the best in the business. We should support the team regardless of the number of victories & fill the stadium accordingly. Yeah, it is so much easier to support when the team is winning.
To my point, SC State schedules out of conference FCS opponents almost annually (Georgia State most recently). You don't hear them jumping up & down about renewing their rivalry with DII Benedict. They are even going to play the Univ. of Arizona this year. Norfolk State pays & plays DII Virginia St. annually during Labor Day weekend. And there is serious talk of ending that rivalry. Additionally, they have TWO non-conference FCS opponents on their schedule. Even MEAC newcomer Savannah State has scheduled an away game at FCS powerhouse University of Northern Iowa this year. Even Alabama State is ending their wildly popular Turkey Day Classic game vs. DII Tuskegee (which doubles as their homecoming) after this year. Shouldn't A&T be a slight step above SC State, Norfolk State, Savannah State & Alabama State?
I guess we want it all - we want to beat DII WSSU every year AND we want to make the FCS playoffs every year & contend for the national championship. In this current world of FCS football, are we now having to choose between the two?

Very good points indeed, I have lived in Greensboro since 1979 , meaning i have attended every football game between the two schools since that time. I enjoyed the intense rivalry and couldn't wait for this game, but as you stated we have to make a choice between the old and the new. I think the administration and the bulk of the fans and Alumni have chosen a new direction , and I am going to sit back, trust in them and do my part by showing up , win lose or draw ,and supporting my Aggies.

For me this is what it boils down to. I really dont care about "WSSU" themselves. Their a non-factor. It's about what's best for A&T. Not what WSSU will get out of it or what do they have to gain. We shouldn't care about that. It's whats best for us. If Hilton adopted a policy of never playing a Div2 opponent again I wouldn't care. But if we are playing one we might as well play the one that can get us the most money.
Everyone knows where everyone else stands. Hopefully Hilton will make the best decision that helps financially now and later on when we might need an at-large bid.
I know I say this every year, but why no matter who the AD is we are always last to release our non-conference schedule? You only have 3 weeks to fill because the MEAC's has already been released a year in advance. Put an end to this WSSU debate already Hilton. Geez. To already know if I have to go to Myrtle Beach Labor Day weekend or the week after would be great ya know!
