Say what you want, but they have more quality depth than we do. While y'all are beating your chests like apes, I guarantee Broadway agrees with me. Therefore, we won't see them on the schedule until we have stabilized our program. Five wins does not a stable program make. Ask Alonzo Lee. so what if they have more quality depth than we do? everybody in the meac had more quality depth than we did, yet nobody "killed us". of course "down play broadway" would probably say wssu has more quality depth than we do, because its true. he always "down plays" our team, which is smart in my opinion. he also "down played" our team before we played bcu, but look at what happened. but, i'll tell ya what? all season long, he "never" stated that any team would "kill us". so in that regard, i disagree that he would agree with you. to say wssu would "kill us" is to say wssu is better than any team in the meac, and nothing could be further from the truth. i don't see them beating scsu, bcu, nor nsu. and quite frankly, i don't see them beating us either. at least not in greensboro i don't...

Look I want the best competition for us to compete for a playoff spot and won't hurt us if we lose. IF WSSU moved up and stay at D-IAA that's fine. Tradition is fine, but the goal is to win the D-1AA championship and having a strong schedule will do it.

A strong nonconference schedule with Edwards Waters and UNCP help WSSU so far in the playoff

We're a very long way from a goal of winning a championship. We're working on a goal of having a winning season here. But then, WSSU was a long way from the d-2 championship two years ago, so anything is possible.
Ed Waters and strong nonconference schedule shouldn't be used in the same sentence.
While it's nice to make money playing WSSU, we ain't ready to play them. We're not ready for the MEAC-SWAC thing either. We'll probably play VUL again, just in case anybody forgot how this season started and starts beating their chest again.
As of right now, WSSU has a better team and a better program than we do. They dang near have more scholarship players than we do. If they lose their starting qb, they just throw in a kid that played for App State. If we lose ours?
Ever since I learned to walk upright, I have known better than to pick a fight I'm guaranteed to lose. Broadway and I started walking upright about the same time. That's how VUL ended up on our schedule in the first place.

^^^^^ that's a rather "defeatist" attitude. good thing broadway didn't think that way when nobody on the planet thought we'd come within 40 points of bcu...

I still think we should (they) find a way to do the WSSU, NCCU, UNC-G thang every year. year.
As I mentioned yesterday I know it WILL NOT happen with WSSU next year because...........but I have made my opinion known to the peepus (more than one person) in charge of this here thang!!!!!!!!!!
We can't compare our rivalries with what major colleges do. We need to do what is best while looking at the bigger picture.
NO FEAR AGGIE!!!

People have short memories, remember those other high-flying CIAA football champions with Div I transfers that couldn't win their first round Div II playoff games against non-HBCU teams like Shaw and NCCU led by A&T's own, Coach Broadway.
Maynor's WSSU team is definitely taking HBCU winning to a national level. A success story that we on HBCUs' sports websites only yack and yadda yadda about.
If WSSU wins this Saturday, Maynor name will be up there with the HBCU greats of the past like Billy Joe (FAMU and Central State), Hubbard (FAMU) and his mentor Bill Hayes (WSSU and NCA&T)

What is soooooo very interesting about Maynor is that I asked him after they beat us 2 years ago in Aggie Stadium if he was happy to be coaching at WSSU. Maynor told me he was unhappy that he WAS NOT coaching at A&T. He said, "I am a Aggie grad and ex-player, I applied for the job but I didn't even get an interview." If everybody remembers General Lee was hired at "T" instead and "Wild Bill" scooped Maynor REAL quick. The rest is history! Of course we do know he was given a shot last year and turned it down. Can you blame him after all the fumbling and bumbling.....incompetent decisions, mis-direction, etc. Glad things are looking up! Let's find a way to get 'em on the schedule in 2013 and see what happens.

5) A&T fans will travel plus with the chance of playing Grambling in that game would make a nice storyline. THE ICON already has a game schedule for the first of the year.
