My opinion and I don't expect everybody to agree with me........When there are old, historic in-state rivalries like A&T-NCCU and A&T-WSSU you play them in football AND basketball every year, regardless of the outcome!
There should not be a fear of defeat...these are historic rivalries that should NEVER be discontinued. Yeah, I know both NCCU and WSSU have been back and forth between the MEAC and CIAA but FEAR should never become a part of the equation.
Now I know some will say WSSU wanted too much this past year to play us. These games are a part of tradition and should be played ever year. Will we win these games most of the time? I hope so but who knows? That's why they are played. Come on man!
Look at us in basketball we use to play UNC-G errrr year but our program took a dip and we know longer scheduled them until recently. I know, I know they would not agree to come to Corbett. Hail let's play them errrrr year at the Coliseum if we can't get a home and home agreement. And don't forget to include the women against the women (A&T-UNC-G). In this case UNC-G is scarrrred.
What I am saying we should have NCCU, WSSU, and UNC-G on our schedule every year. These are "rivalry week" games. FEAR NO ONE!
GO AGGIES!

last year, i wouldn't have said let's play wssu 'cuz our coaches needed time to put in their schemes and learn our players. our players needed time to learn new schemes and learn to execute those schemes without a lot of thinking.
but now that our foundation has been laid and our coaches and players have a year under their belts together, now i'm ready to take on the likes of a wssu. and, i like our chances of beating them too!
with mayhew coming back and most of our key starters returning, plus a broadway recruiting class along with a few fbs transfers being eligible, i say bring the rams on! we just have to find a reliable replacement for miles wallace, that's important. but i think we can matchup with wssu next season.
we fear no one! if we can "dominate" a team that essentially averaged 60 plus points against us over the previous 3 years, why should we fear wssu? yeah, bring the rams on! i'll even go so far to say if they come to aggie stadium, we will beat them...

Of course we won't. They'd kill us. i don't think they would. if bcu couldn't do it and no other meac team could do it, then i don't think wssu could do it either. matter of fact, the way i see it, if we can beat bcu, then we can beat wssu. no hbcu dominated us this season and i'd expect that we'd have an even better team next season. i wouldn't have said this last year this time, but now i say "bring 'em on"! we ain't scurd!! wssu don't scare me. i say bring 'em on! Tru! Imagine the Rams' record if they were in the MEAC.. they definately wouldnt have went undefeated this year, nowhere close.. and the Rams barely defeated 3 CIAA teams this year in really close games.. BRING EM' ON

People would take days off work, plan trips, and drive hundreds of miles to see the Aggies take on UNCG, NCCU, or WSSU.. doing all of that to see a non-rival game wouldn't happen.. sad but that's just the way it is.

Say what you want, but they have more quality depth than we do. While y'all are beating your chests like apes, I guarantee Broadway agrees with me. Therefore, we won't see them on the schedule until we have stabilized our program. Five wins does not a stable program make. Ask Alonzo Lee.

Don't be surprised when our first game is on the last Saturday in August in Greensboro against a average D-2 team at home before going to Coastal. No way he will open at Coastal without a warmup game first. That has always been Broadway's M.O. and always will be.
Forget WSSU. We won't see them again most likely until 2014, if then. I'm 100 percent positive that any immediate athletic relationship is pretty much shot for the time being with their demand for a home and home series.
A&T just is not going to do that with any D-II institution no matter how bad people may want it. Until they drop that condition it ain't going happen. End of story.

Not any more. NSU and Va State was the last one this past year and now that long time series is over with as well.

Again another example of how we fail to take advantage of an opportunity to showcase talent and to highlight a two key rivalries in HBCU football folklore.
If UNC, Duke or State were in different conferences do you think that would stop them from battling it out in every sport each year?
ECU and App state just realized their folly in not scheduling each other for the past few years and are planning to reignite their competition next season.
Sometimes we make things to difficult and such is the case in North Carolina HBCU Rivalry Match-ups.

Only thing about playing Coastal Carolina Labor Day weekend is the room rate at Myrtle Beach will be RIDICULOUS. With that being said, I would probably still go. I know we normally like home Labor Day games, but if you got to travel not many colleges would be better than Coastal?

That's one reason (along with crowds/lines, traffic, slower service etc) why I preferred another weekend.
I'll be there. ;D

Me too.
The thing I hate is that we will fill up their stadium, and their coffers. When we play them in Greensboro they don't return the favor. Actually, we don't even show up when we play them in Greensboro.

If UNC, Duke or State were in different conferences do you think that would stop them from battling it out in every sport each year?... ... If UNC was in Div. I and NC State or Duke were in Div. II, I guarantee you that they would not play home-and-home. Any games that would be played would be on UNC's campus. In fact, that's already happening. UNC, Duke and NC State all used to be a part of the Southern Conference "back in the day." They had long-established rivalries back then, too, but you never hear about NC State coming down to Furman for a football game or Duke going to Appalachain State in football, do you?
