i'm really not terribly disappointed with the app state game. i would've preferred that the score would've been somewhat closer, but i knew we were in for a major challenge. over on meacfanszone i predicted that we'd be respectable for the first half but that app state would rotate fresh legs (who are just as talented as our starters) into the game in the second half and open up the game which is exactly what they did.
one of the pluses of the game was that our d-line didn't play so badly after all. actually i thought they played quite well for about one half. secondly, our offense didn't light up the scoreboard, but we did generate over 300 yards of offense against the nations 3rd ranked team. and we had balance, 167 rushing yards and 168 passing yards. kindle completed 10 out of 17 passes, but he threw two picks. i think our offense will be difficult to defend in the meac, but our other receivers need to help miles out (larry raper, where are you?).
this game was a classic case of superior talent and depth wearing down inferior overall talent and depth. all we needed was a touchdown in the first half and we would've gone to half time with a win still possible.
i'm just hoping that we got out of that game relatively injury free. regroup over the next two weeks and we should be ready for coastal carolina in greensboro. i'm encouraged that we'll have a chance to win that game...

Totally agree I really saw a lot of good things but you we just could not put it all together to put points on the board.
One thing no one has mention was the wildcat they ran with Ricky Lewis. When they first ran it. It look really bad Rickly lewis loss his footing but when they ran it again they got postive yardage. I think that can be an effective way to yards in a 3rd and long.
