Looks like cramp-gate is now officially over.
I stopped by practice today and from my count there were a total of 0 players who were being held out due to cramps. Usually you would see a handful of players not wearing pads and just stretching or jogging laps all practice, but not today.
Every single player I saw was in full pads and going full speed.
So for those of you scoring at home, in less than 48 hours after publicly voicing his frustration over the widespread cramp epidemic, it appears that "Funky B da Great One, Saviour of all Aggies Everywhere" finally got what he wanted: his top players back on the field.
Coincidence? Maybe. And there's also a chance the Easter Bunny really exists.
A wise man once said that money talks and bullisht walks. Another wise man once said that big bank takes little bank.
All I know is that it looks like Broadway just got a W and he hasn't even coached his first game here yet.

thrilla....... if Broadway translates those wins to success on da football fieId, you should trademark and patent ""Funky B da Great One, Saviour of all Aggies Errrrrrrwhere"cause I honestly believe you could get PAID my man!! Look what Pat Riley did with the "Three Peat" slogan!!! You could take any proceeds from that and hire a COMPETENT basketball coach for us and STILL be looking good in the pockets. GO AGGIES

Broadway has one thing that Hayes did not have. A very large, very guaranteed contract. Hayes never had that kind of leverage for all the influence he did wield.
I can't wait for the next fool to step in his way.

I don't feel the training staff were losers in this situation. No players got seriously ill or died due to practicing in the heat, and I beleive that was the purpose of holding them out of practice. If the training staff were losers, they would have caved to pressure from the coaches a couple of weeks ago. I am just glad they are all back on the field and no one ended up with any serious medical conditions.

my biggest concern is that the guys who were held out of practice could be more vulnerable to injuries since they're not in "football shape". i mean, you can jog, lift weights, and stretch until the cows come home, but if that's all you've done, you ain't in "football shape" and you're gonna be more vulnerable to injuries.
that's why we have preseason camps, so that guys can prepare their bodies both physically and mentally to go to battle for the duration of a game. hopefully coach broadway will closely monitor these guys if he plays them on saturday because it ain't like we've got a whole lot of depth and can afford guys to get injured prematurely...

You guys are talking with “no skin in the game”; after 2 deaths, numerous firings and an ongoing lawsuit, no medical professional is going to risk losing his or her license or get caught-up in some lawsuit because a coach of a football program with no cache’ blew his top.
Secondly, A&T’s Administration is in no position to override a medical professional’s decision –please read first paragraph. Thirdly, A&T has a difficult time keeping trainers due to the workload and pay commensurate to the workload at A&T. The trainers are spread thin.
So Thrilla and the rest of the crew get real, this is no “game, set, match!” at play here.
In my opinion "The Great Way" is more furstrated about his football team's lack of talent and lack of depth than simply 5 players being held out.

Of course he is, but it's interesting that all five are supposedly back in pads just after Broadway bitched about it.
There is a difficulty with keeping trainers, but it's easier to get a new trainer than to pay a million bucks (at this point, it would be a million bucks) to get a new coach.
I'm just saying...

Jazz, I'm not sure I understand what you're saying.
All I know is what I heard with my own ears at the press conference and what I saw with my own eyes at practice yesterday.
In my opinion, this was in fact a power play and when the dust settled Broadway appeared to have gotten what he wanted.
I'm not sure what actually transpired after the press conference on Monday but by Wednesday the situation that he publicly complained about appears to have been resolved in his favor.

Actually they were all back practicing near the end of last week. They were not hitting but they were out on the field.

i think jazz is confusing this message board with journalism. i'd agree it would be absolutely wrong and irresponsible for a journalist to characterize the coach or the trainers as winners or losers as it pertains to "cramp gate". but this is a message board where fans have fun, speculate, trash talk, tell the truth, tell lies, poke fun, joke, nickname, be serious, and don't be serious. i don't think anything on a message board should be taken "literally" all the time. and i'm most certainly sure that every one of us are sensitive to the lives loss at a&t as a result of athletics. i don't think anyone of our comments regarding "cramp gate" were intended to trivialize the loss of life at a&t. to me, this is a message board and comments made relative to the coach versus the trainers shouldn't be taken out of context. i think the poster simply made an observation that it "appeared" that the coach got his way. in my opinion, characterizing the coach as a winner in this so called "cramp gate" should not be misconstrued to mean a lack of respect for the seriousness of lives loss at a&t. as one of my all time favorite washington redskins (john riggins) once said after falling on the floor under a dinner table drunk during a presidential speech, he said to surpreme court justice sandra day o'connor, "loosen up, baby! just loosen up." it ain't always that serious...
