Hell I like it and him They say a team takes on the coaches personality Then we should be HARD I DO KNOW THIS IF WE LET BROADWAY GET AWAY BY BUYING HIM OUT AS WE ALWAYS DO. Are you kidding. I guess the coach doesn't know that we had a student to die during track tryouts and a football player to die during drills. We have lost perspective if we think that its okay for a coach to publicly challenge personnel that are responsible for keeping our kids safe. What price do we want to pay to have a winning football team? Truthfully, I'm disgusted by any suggestion that the coach knows better than our trainers about the treatment of our kids. If that is true, we need to hire him as our trianers!

BUT WE DIDN'T DID WE. LOOK THE MAN IS JUST COACHING THAT IS WHAT WE DO. WE NEVER GO AGAINST A DOCTORS ADVICE . NOW DID A DOCTOR SAY THAT THEY COULD NOT RETURN??? THE STUDENTS THAT DIED THAT IS UNFORTUNATE BUT BROADWAY WAS NOT HERE. AND IF THE ADMIRATION WOULD HAVE DONE THEIR JOB BACK THEN INSTEAD OF BACK STABBING EACH OTHER ARE AS SOME SAY "HANDLING IT INTERNALLY" YOU WOULD NOT HAVE MADE THAT STATEMENT . BROADWAY IS COVERING HIS BACK AND I DON'T BLAME HIM . HE IS GOING ON RECORD BY MAKING THE STATEMENTS IN PUBLIC. AS WE ALL KNOW WE HAVE NOT HAD A GREAT TRAINER AT A&T SCENES MR BEE RETIRED AND THAT IS A FACT JACK!! ALSO DO YOU REMEMBER WHAT THEY TRIED TO DO TO SPACE ?? THAT MAN BLEED AGGIE. BROADWAY IS NOT GOING TO LET THAT HAPPEN TO HIM. HE IS PUTTING IT OUT THEIR SO THAT THE AGGIE COMMITTEE AND ADMINISTRATION KNOWS WERE HE STANDS . I AS ONE LOVE THE HELL OUT OF IT

What exactly is it that you "love the hell out of"? That the head football coach is going public with an internal issue, or that he blindsided his boss before he can address the issue, that he's publicly picking a fight with the training staff, or that the Coach is making medical diagnosis of players. Is he the head football coach or head trainer? What’s next, head of admission, or head of food services? He has just forced the trainer's hand, and I hope for his sake that each and every one of these players only has cramps, or he will start losing the credibility with the players, fans and the Administration. This is not a good move under any situation.

Wait a minute now...let's put it in perspective. I have no opinion whether he should have said it in the press or not. My thinking is, he's putting it out there so people will know why his team isn't where he expects it to be whether that be due to injury or whatever. When he begins to field questions as to why they didn't win or what happened...you have a piece of it already. Now, I will be the first to say, I'm no doctor....but, unless having cramps is a medical condition, this is the first time in my life of hearing that players have been held out of practice for weeks at a time. Correct me if I'm wrong but, don't cramps and football go together like babies and pacifiers? I think we tend to mix apples and oranges alot around here. As I am sympathetic of the tragic losses our department experienced with those two young men, but let's be honest. We had compliance issues as a department. Had we been in compliance we wouldn't be discussing Broadway's comments. We cannot have it all guys...our Athletic department has made this bed for us to lie in, not Broadway. I'm almost sure if a kid has a medical issue that causes him to cramp more than usual, then that would be a different story. If that's true in our case...what's the probability that 5 kids have the same condition on our team? Why hasn't this condition come to the forefront? I just think we should allow the man to do his work...but in doing so, no one said it would pretty or nice.

It's the golden rule: he who has the gold, rules.
Broadway has a guaranteed 5 year contract paying him $232.5 K a year. Nobody else in the athletic department is making close to that amount. Beside, Martin was the one who courted him and hired him, not Hilton.
Reportedly Broadway didn't even want to take the job initially when he found out Dawson would not be his AD. Remember the press conference right before National Signing Day where Broadway and Dawson both announced that they were staying at Grambling? It was only after the Grambling fans went crazy with the hate mail and Martin increased his offer significantly that Funky B did an about face and returned home.
So I would assume he answers only to Martin now.
That's why I say that Martin will eventually have to call everybody into his office and get things straighten out. Gotta have the coaches and trainers on the same page or the whole team will become divided.

Yall keep tripping on this lil ish and let them boys from Carolina call Broadway, while yall worried about some cramps.... SMH.... Some of us will never learn. Let the man run the team, let him take the risks. To much micro management. We are treating a seasoned coach like he's wet behind the ears. Its time some fire got put under some folks. Cant wait for the season, I need to hear some cussin! ;D

So, other than the trainer issue, did he say much about the team ? Their progression? Depth chart?

This situation has been brewing since the spring. Believe me, the administration is already dealing with this issue. Several complaints have already been filed.

So, other than the trainer issue, did he say much about the team ? Their progression? Depth chart? He said the offense has a chance to be pretty good but the defensive line is thin. He said we will play defensive tackles who are just 230 pounds. Basically we are gonna have to outscore people if we expect to win games. Just like I have been telling yall since camp began. Broadway said he likes his place kicker but the punter is very inconsistent. Right now we have more walkons on the roster than scholarship players. According to Broadway we only have 33 scholarship players and 5 of those are currently being held out for cramps. That means we will likely have just 28 scholarship players for this week and next week against App State.

According to the depth chart published by the Sports Information department, Terrence Webb and Donald Mattocks are your starting cornerbacks.

Is this really as big a deal that we are making this out to be? From my understanding, coaches at ALL levels complain about players being held out for "cramps" both in private and in public. To me, this really isn't as big of an issue as it seems. Even if those players were in practice, we would still have the same problems we've been having.
I just don't see the need to overreact about those comments, yet.

I am with ohsixrain. How on earth can you have 5 players out for cramps ? A very real possibility that a kid can have an issue with severe cramping but 5 at one time. The only fix for cramping is proper hydration. For some kids that means they need to hydrate all day long not just at practice.
I also wonder if the players feel they are ready to return and are still being held out by the trainers ?
