I think the key is good sound tackling. If you look at the BCU game last year, we missed so many tackles...of course that wouldn't have determined the outcome but, the game could've been something to look at. Last year I thought we had good blitz packages, we just didn't tackle well. Remember, we lost the WSSU game on a missed tackle on a 3rd and long that wound up going all the way down inside our 5 yard line with less than a minute. I must say, that good tackling will not cure all of our ills but, that would be a major step in the right direction. I dare say we can win at least 5 games with good sound tackling and discipline alone. Man, I been hollering about the one play for almost a year now. He came up and tried to make the "kill" hit and got juked. All he had to do was break down and stand there. Straight coaching And best believe Broadway & Co., especially Coach Reese are beating this into the skulls of these young men during fall camp.

I don't think we have to be overly concerned about the size of our defensive line. The primary issues to me are lack of experience and depth.

Discipline ,fundamentals, conditioning and technique wins games. Size is a factor that can be neutralized with over all Speed that is why the 3-4 is useful . You can have a undersized D-line but they must be active and play with Discipline. The key in the 3-4 is your LB's and DB's they have to be active Head hunters and play with Discipline. Even against the run the 3-4 is an affective defense if played properly . I have always maintained that A & T will have a respectable season and if A & T plays smart basic disciplined TEAM football we will be OK.

I agree, but those 3 (and a couple of backups) better be Monsters(no pun intended). Otherwise they can be the most disciplined group on the planet and still get dominated 2nd half by just being fatigued from getting laid on by a large 0-line.

It will take time. Turning this program around will not get done, quick, fast and in a hurry. I believe this program has and will continue to improve but not to what you guys are stating. The players don't have the programmed action and reaction to a real game right now. The coaching is there, I believe, but it takes time to have this stuff sink into brain and react to a cold-cock hit.
One more thing, it aint easy winning the MEAC....and BCU didn't win the MEAC from the same position that A&T is in right now.
Like "Iron" MikeTyson once said "everyone has a plan until they get hit"

True that Aggie Monster. Quality backups are a important s also. Hopefully some of the new comers and vets will step up their play that is all we can hope for. From being in coaching a long time I have seen some wonderfully things happen from season to season. Like I have always said A & T will have a respectable season. AGGIEJAZZ: I don't think that any one said we will win it all.?? But I do think that A & T will get their respectability back for Themselves as a Team and with in the MEAC!! That is what its all about. My Dad had a saying (YOU DON'T HAVE TO WIN IT ALL TO BE RESPECTED AND FEARED).
