oleschool, that was 3 years ago man. Let his high school video die please. I'm just saying. He has to show us something NOW. Hopefully he will. hey, a person's history defines who they are today. i've already stated he still has plenty to prove at the fcs level. but his high school videos shows what he's capable of doing and that's what matters. it tells me he is very fundamentally sound and doesn't have to be taught the basics. he just needs fcs experience and he already has a little. he also has to overcome some "rustiness" in that he hasn't played in two years. but he's got all the tools of a dual threat qb. i still say he'll break almost all of our passing records if he stays healthy and we have a decent o-line...

Johntavious Mullins is a Keeper that just needs Coaching that is all. Most of the high school QB that we get that run the spared do have (happy feet) as you may call it but we call it (Run first Mentality)THAT is because of the Coaching that they receive in High school (IF YOU SEE AND OPENING RUN). Now what I see is a big kid with natural effective movements that is more of a down field passer because most of his shorter passes come out high. If coached right he will be a good one. Now if your looking for him to come in and start for A & T no would be my answer but with a year under his belt and proper coaching that may be your QB of the future. In my opinion It would be foolish to move that kid to receiver. I'm like this if I have a guy that has not shown me anything in 3 years he needs to step up are move over. I would be more inclined to move the 3 year guy before the in coming guy!

I watched the Mullins video and in my opinion he is like a lot of your HS spread QB's, a good athlete playing the position. He seems like a run first QB because quite often his eyes weren't down field. I think he needs a lot of work on his mechanics because he slings the ball, in other words he throws with a more of a side arm motion.
I'm not trying to bash him but he has a lot of work in my opinion in order to become a good collegiate QB. Also, in comparison with Kindle's HS video, I think that Kindle was a much better pure HS QB. He just looks like more of a pure QB in regards to his mechanics and decision making. Kindle has to stay healthy and produce and Mullins has to come in ready to learn at this level.

My "dos pesos" Kindle definitely is the best we have at QB right now. Yes he should have to compete for the starting position , but based on watching Mullins video ,and watching Lewis and Webb and Kindle in practice , he's our starter for this year.

man, i looked at kindle's highlights again and i swear, out of the very many passes he made in the video, i only counted about 2 passes that weren't exactly dead on the numbers. i mean, his "accuracy" is incredible. and please pay close attention to the passes he made while defenders were literally in his face, they were still dead on target.
impressive, just impressive. i wish i could go back and look at the game he played against famu two years ago. he looked just like he did in his high school videos, he picked famu apart. both in the air and on the ground. he even ran for a td against famu and "show boated" in the end zone, pointing the ball at the famu defenders.
when i first saw him in during a press conference, he appeared to be very soft spoken. but on the football field, he appears to be very confident and at times, very "cockie". ain't nothing wrong with being a little "cockie" as long as you can back it up and he did exactly that...

AM....your new nickname is going to be "what have you done for me lately" - ala Janet Jackson......... ;D Thats cute, but I think the type of talk raving and ranting about a player's past accomplishments has been part of what has killed this team. Giving all these props and accolades to individuals is just useless. No one on a 1 win team should get any accolades for anything! No one should be a incumbent starter in my opinion. Why do you guys think Broadway keep saying "WE HAVE GOT TO GET BETTER". Its because he doesn't want these guys getting complacent with what they are owed and what they have done. Losing is a TEAM problem, so everyone has to get better. F what you did last year or the year before that. I dont care if I dont know any player's name that starts or have seen their highlight tape. I just want him to put hard working winners on the field. Whether it be Kindle, Lewis, a baseball player, a 28 year old transfer......I dont care. Execute and win!

Mullins is 6-2 1/2, 195. Great to see former All State DE Daniel McNeil (Ragsdale) back off his red shirt year going full speed in practice. That will help us along the defensive line immensely this year.

Thanks, A1, for the info. I watched his high school video and he's quite shifty for his size. And according to the video, he didn't have a great Offense Line blocking for him in high school.
One last point, according to Mullins' Facebook page he's married and originally from Belle Glade, Florida which produces some good football talent.

Like I said with Good coaching the Mullins kid will be your QB of the future . I never look back on player's past accomplishments because its about the here and now and the season is here and now. Broadway stated "WE HAVE GOT TO GET BETTER" So to me he is saying what you did against FAMU is in the past. I agree with (Aggie Monster :I dont care if I dont know any player's name that starts or have seen their highlight tape. I just want him to put hard working winners on the field. Whether it be Kindle, Lewis, a baseball player, a 28 year old transfer......I dont care. Execute and win!) but I also disagree with basefoot00 : The kid played in a run first offense and as far as mechanics go. that is what you pay coaches for. We had a kid that went to Auburn University that had terrible mechanics and he did just fine . Like I said the past is just that if the kid Kindle is as good as some of you think he IS he should step up and prove it. One game dos not make a season. We have a saying here AT BLINN (YOUR ONLY AS GOOD AS YOUR LAST SEASON).

Decks and Thilla I have to agree with Aggie One. He is no Kindle but we drop off so much with the other QBs you have to at least say he can make a run for the second QB spot. We have got to build dept in that position so when one get hurt we still have a QB that can step in an run that offense effectively.

So, I'm assuming that R. Lewis and Webb are not capable of backing him up.

saabman, both you and monster are completely "over reacting". i'm not on the coaching staff just like ya'll ain't either. this is a fan's forum, not a coach's forum. i'm discussing just one individual, not the entire team.
this forum is for fans, so we're supposed to express our opinions, regardless to whether it is past history or future prospects. that's what fan message boards are all about!
if you don't like kindle, just say so. but don't come up here talkin' bout what a kid did two years ago doesn't matter, because it absolutely does matter. using your logic, why even recruit anybody? everybody we recruit is based on what they did in their past. its stupid not to place credence on a person's past. that's the one thing that tells you more about a person than what he or she did today. you can't even qualify for a loan without somebody placing credence on your past.
ya'll need to get a grip. this is a fan's forum, not a locker room. ya'll sound like a bunch of sour grapes just because folk ain't praising your favorites. grow up, folks! i thought we are all adults here! don't bash the guy just because you don't agree or nobody is praising your favorites. that's very childish...

I was told by someone connected with the team that there is another QB besides Mullins that will be in camp very soon. They did not give me a name or how good he is suppose to be. We only had 2 QB's at practice on Sat. and that was Kindle and Lewis. I think they are planning on using Lewis at several positions. Thanks Aggie One, I did not realize that your homeboy (McNeil DL) was in pratice. If he stays healthy he has the potential to be very good at DE. I watched him play in high school and he was very impressive. Aggie One, do you know if the kid (DL) from Western Guilford is in practice also? He was also very impressive in high school.
